Why would you not install pistons while the motor is already tore apart? If you are going to use beefy rods the logical thing to do is also get pistons if you are going to all that trouble.
Never ever pay ADM, that is my stance on it. A local dealer called me asking if I was still interested in it (they are asking $10k ADM) to which I replied I will not pay a cent over MSRP. They tried to tell me it is a limited car, blah blah blah, and I said if 6000 cars is limited well I suppose...
A 20hp loss can not be felt on a butt dyno nor will you see a loss in 0-60 times. Also once Ktuner and Hondata come out with a flash you will have a lot more power then the V6 can put out. Honda V6's have a lot less power to the wheels compared to the I4 turbos. Heck even the Acura RLX dyno'd at...
I am jumping on the Accord because of all the Tech options like HUD and because it has a 2.0L turbo. My choice not buying a CTR wasn't about sticking it to the man I don't care about all that. There are a lot of people who are displeased with how the CTR is being handled, I am not the only one...
It's not about stickin it to em, I don't care about hurting anyone's feelings. Besides I am just one person, there are many other people who will buy the CTR just not this guy. Same reason I didn't buy a SI, they killed that one too. I always like accords so that one is still on my list.
It's pretty documented how Honda has a lot of issues here and there on various models. The 15-17 TLX has a massive complaint list on the transmission that car, in fact it is the #1 complaint. The 14'-15' RLX, I happen to own one, has quite a large TSB list. My in-laws bought their 2012 Odyssey...
Also have read about A/C issues happening. For $35k I expect a level of reliability that Honda has been known for, most of my cars have been Honda/Acura. I am definitely not buying a R with a 2nd gear problem.
I was initially very interested in getting one. But seeing how so many dealerships have been acting I am not that interested in getting one. I actually not sure if I even want one at MSRP now. After reading on the issues this first year model is having, it's not worth it for me anymore.
MSRP is still happening, a few people are still reporting they purchased their CTR's at msrp. They are not going to let a CTR sit on the showroom just because they want ADM. The hype will die down and all those who paid more then MSRP will regret next year when everyone else will be getting...
Both Lindsay Honda and Acura charge above MSRP on most of their cars. I don't buy from them anymore. I steer far away from them, if you want a better choice Honda dealerships outside of columbus is your best bet.
