  1. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Gary Yeomans Honda in Daytona Beach, FL has a black one for $60,000.
  2. 1.5T Finally 311.7 HP! Owen turbo + Custom connecting rod.

Why would you not install pistons while the motor is already tore apart? If you are going to use beefy rods the logical thing to do is also get pistons if you are going to all that trouble.
  3. Anyone believe that dealer plants are on this site pushing ADMs to drive prices up?

Never ever pay ADM, that is my stance on it. A local dealer called me asking if I was still interested in it (they are asking $10k ADM) to which I replied I will not pay a cent over MSRP. They tried to tell me it is a limited car, blah blah blah, and I said if 6000 cars is limited well I suppose...
  4. Whose car is this? totaled on the way home from dealer

Buying it back from the insurance is not a hassle at all. I bought back my totaled RSX type S from my insurance company without any hassle at all.
  5. vs. 2018 Accord

A 20hp loss can not be felt on a butt dyno nor will you see a loss in 0-60 times. Also once Ktuner and Hondata come out with a flash you will have a lot more power then the V6 can put out. Honda V6's have a lot less power to the wheels compared to the I4 turbos. Heck even the Acura RLX dyno'd at...
  6. How ADM kills good cars

I am jumping on the Accord because of all the Tech options like HUD and because it has a 2.0L turbo. My choice not buying a CTR wasn't about sticking it to the man I don't care about all that. There are a lot of people who are displeased with how the CTR is being handled, I am not the only one...
  7. How ADM kills good cars

It's not about stickin it to em, I don't care about hurting anyone's feelings. Besides I am just one person, there are many other people who will buy the CTR just not this guy. Same reason I didn't buy a SI, they killed that one too. I always like accords so that one is still on my list.
  8. vs. 2018 Accord

Wonder how that 10 speed auto will hold up once people mod the motor. I like the car over all, and the HUD is a huge bonus.
  9. How ADM kills good cars

Honda killed it for me, I won't be buying one. I am pretty bitter about it, I'll buy an Accord that has the same motor.
  10. Poll: How many are still waiting to buy a CTR?

I am most likely getting the new Accord with the 2.0T it is coming with, as time goes by I want the CTR less and less.
  11. Poll: How many are still waiting to buy a CTR?

It's pretty documented how Honda has a lot of issues here and there on various models. The 15-17 TLX has a massive complaint list on the transmission that car, in fact it is the #1 complaint. The 14'-15' RLX, I happen to own one, has quite a large TSB list. My in-laws bought their 2012 Odyssey...
  12. Poll: How many are still waiting to buy a CTR?

Also have read about A/C issues happening. For $35k I expect a level of reliability that Honda has been known for, most of my cars have been Honda/Acura. I am definitely not buying a R with a 2nd gear problem.
  13. Poll: How many are still waiting to buy a CTR?

I was initially very interested in getting one. But seeing how so many dealerships have been acting I am not that interested in getting one. I actually not sure if I even want one at MSRP now. After reading on the issues this first year model is having, it's not worth it for me anymore.
  14. Blue Type R gotta let it go

MSRP is still happening, a few people are still reporting they purchased their CTR's at msrp. They are not going to let a CTR sit on the showroom just because they want ADM. The hype will die down and all those who paid more then MSRP will regret next year when everyone else will be getting...
  15. Blue Type R gotta let it go

Sounds like buyer's remorse and realized AWD is more fun to drive. A Subaru is not more reliable then Honda that's for sure.
  16. Anybody divulging any MSRP paperwork?

You will regret it next year once the 18's come out.
  17. 2017 CTR Production #01 up for Auction

$200k is nuts, what is wrong with these people.
  18. 2017 Civic Type R window sticker reveals $33,900 MSRP!

Or just get all season tires instead of summer tires.
  19. Put an END to the Dealer Naughty List

I was planing to buy one but I changed my mind. Maybe next year when all the hype is gone.
  20. Dealer Getting Type R End Of May!?

Both Lindsay Honda and Acura charge above MSRP on most of their cars. I don't buy from them anymore. I steer far away from them, if you want a better choice Honda dealerships outside of columbus is your best bet.
