  1. how eager to know are you?

That's not speculation. It's fact that all the different body styles are being built on the same 10th gen platform.
  2. how eager to know are you?

The 10th gen coupe, sedan, and hatchback will all be built on the same platform. If you're talking body style, the Type R will be a hatchback -- see First look at 2017 Civic Type R Hatchback Prototype! Spy pics
  3. First sighting of 2016 CIvic Coupe out in public (video)

Can't wait to see what the hatchback looks like. That'll give us a great idea what the next Type R will be.
  4. Rumors swirl.... 2016 Civic Si 2.0T with about 230hp.

So a more basic and less powerful version of the Type R engine, I like it!
  5. Will the hatch be 2-door or four?

But the 10th gen hatch shape isn't as wedge-shaped (not as sloping) as the current one, and the 10th gen sedan is bigger overall with bigger interior, so the hatchback should have more cargo capacity overall.
  6. What modifications are you planning?

I think the LX is a great value. And fan of mechanical over digital gauge myself. So many dealers will do tint so its almost like a factory option. Ask your dealer how much they'd do it for, then negotiate.
  7. Will the hatch be 2-door or four?

Can't wait to see the hatchback. Might not be long... Geneva show next month would be perfect to debut it since it'll be sold in Europe too.
  8. This is what 2016 Civic Coupe without wing spoiler looks like

What about the reverse - will installing this wing spoiler require the trunk to be drilled?
  9. What did you do to your Civic today?!

Nice upgrade! Like how it gives the headlights a blue crystal look.
  10. Civic Type R with dual clutch?

One thing to consider which might increase the chances that the Civic Type R gets an optional DCT is the fact that the car will be sold in North America and it'll be the biggest market for the CTR. North Americans are not as big on manual transmission as the rest of the world. The take rates of...
  11. First modified 2016 Civic Sedan - by Galpin Auto Sports

Not bad. Woulda liked to see it with all the modifications but the wrap, on the factory black color.
  12. Now that the Si and Type R are both available...

+1 and the CTR styling is a bit much to show up at some workplaces in :)
  13. Test drive of EX-L Saturday, as a passenger (long story)

@hondo thanks for sharing your experience and process and congratulations on the beautiful new car! Will it be primarily your car or the wife's? I agree this community has been tremendous. I'm not even in the market for a Civic yet (waiting for Si or Type R$ and I still come on here everyday.
  14. Where is the hatchback? Expectations?

After some digging I think you're right. I reread the Honda press release and it says: "The world debut of the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe is the second in a series of new 10th-generation Civic models that will include a sedan, coupe, high-performance Si models, a 5-door hatchback and the first-ever...
  15. Where is the hatchback? Expectations?

IMO if they want to create an enthusiast following for the hatch it would help if they bump the power given its added weight. A lot of the competition that has developed an enthusiast following is either RWD/AWD or has significantly more power/torque than what the 1.5L is pushing.
  16. 2016 Civic sedan wing spoiler first real life look

On the US site I think you can equip all models except Touring with both the Wing Spoiler and Decklid Spoiler.
  17. Where is the hatchback? Expectations?

OK so the coupe is being shown next week in LA but we've had total silence on the hatchback. We even have heard rumors that the Si could be shown in Detroit or NY next year... isn't the hatch next to be revealed? Curious if anyone is planning to buy one and what you are expecting from Honda?
  18. SURPRISE! Official: 2016 Civic Coupe to debut at LA Auto Show!

Great just in time for winter. I hope they do a faster rollout for the coupe since they've had time to ramp up production for the sedan. It should be mostly same stamping and assembly processes I would think given the same transmissions/powertrain/suspension and mostly the same body.
  19. Manual 1.5t delayed until 2017 model year

I think it'll be a shortened model year due to the late start. I wouldn't be surprised to see the manual 1.5L come out around same time as the Si is shown, whatever the case I'm just glad they have plans to offer it.
  20. Accessorized 2016 Honda Civic Sedan with body kit at SEMA 2015 - first look

I was hoping to see some more aftermarket accessories at SEMA or at least something more than the accessories kit that Honda previewed even before the show. Have vendors just not had any time with the car to develop any parts for it yet? Don't manufacturers typically share CAD info or...
