  1. Connecting a large USB stick with tons of songs (it's super slow)

I can't remember exactly because I did it a few years ago, but isn't there an option in the head-unit to disable artwork?
  2. Connecting a large USB stick with tons of songs (it's super slow)

Playing music through your phone is fine....it's just that I don't like to keep my phone plugged in the car when I'm driving if I don't really need to charge my phone's battery. So I rely on the USB stick instead. I could use bluetooth via my phone, but it doesn't always work well. At least with...
  3. Connecting a large USB stick with tons of songs (it's super slow)

And to add on what SCOPESYS said, I would just not have any artwork to display because that's one more thing the slow-ass Honda system has to load and consequently slow down your songs.
  4. Super slow warm up times

Who's feeling heat when they turn on their engine right off the bat anyways? All I feel is cold air for the first 5-6 minutes. Leave the climate control off until the engine warms up. At least the heated seats work right away.
  5. Wow, that was easy!

I believe it's when I'm trying to remove the battery....sometimes I have trouble popping it out, and the green "motherboard" below the battery comes out too along with all of the buttons. I guess I just need to be more careful next time.
  6. Wow, that was easy!

So tell me what I'm doing wrong....I've replaced the FOB twice already and both times all of the buttons fall out and it's a pain to put them all back together. How do you guys avoid that?
  7. 3 things I hate when driving...

Don't forget about the people who you honk at because they were being oblivious idiots, but then give you a look (or the finger) because you know......jerks. How dare we honk at them.
  8. Have had car FOUR DAYS and it needs servicing!!!

Not sure if it's the same issue, but a few months ago I dropped my son off at school and as soon as I left I started hearing that metal scraping sound you mentioned. I went back home and looked at the the tires and noticed that there was a sticker attached to the coil (see pic). I knew the sound...
  9. Biggest USB Thumb Drive that works on Honda Infotainment Unit

I currently use a 64 GB flash drive and plan on getting a 128 GB drive when I run out of space. So far I don't suffer from the issue of songs taking too long to load. But I'll have to see if that's a problem when I get a bigger flash drive. I also like to leave the drive plugged in all the...
  10. Biggest USB Thumb Drive that works on Honda Infotainment Unit

Since there's a 700 folder limit, all you really need to do to get past this is instead of creating album folder, create one folder per artist/band. Then you can throw in all the songs in one folder. As an example, let's say you've got three Pink Floyd albums (dark side (DS), animals (ANI), the...
  11. Freezing Temp / Turbo Start

Cold temps less than 35 I would wait about 30 seconds, but really brutal temps (for me living in VA I consider that less than 20 degrees.......I know this is subjective (ie ask the Canadians what they consider brutal, I'm sure it's a lot lower than 20 degrees), I wait 1 minute, sometimes 2.
  12. iPod music skips and I have to re-plug USB every startup

I have an 80 GB ipod that I bought in 2006. I was too chicken-shit too so in 2014 I sent my ipod to a guy on Ebay and he upgraded my 80 gig to a 160 GB. Obviously you want to make sure you sending it to someone who will send it back to you, but I'm glad I did it. Plus it works great with my Civic.
  13. error message with voice commands

Anyone see this yet? It's not all the time, but I sometimes see it when trying to change albums on the flash drive. I do not have any voice issues with the ipod, just the flash drive. Not sure if I want the dealer to take a look at it since it doesn't always happen.
  14. Stripped screws to air filter lid

I stripped those screws as well when I tried back in April. Screw Honda (haha) for not using the clips on the 1.5T. My friend brought his socket wrench set over and we were able to pull it off. I believe I used size 5/16 from the set.
  15. Favorite Driving Songs.

Props for listing King's X. It seems that they are still rock's best kept secret! :)
  16. Dealer integrity and honesty... or lack thereof

As long as you do your research and have the ability to say "no" to car salesman from time to time, you can get a decent price on a car.
  17. Anyone Sell their Leases or Vehicles to CarMax?

Only anecdotal, but the three times I've tried to get a car appraised at Carmax, the local dealership had a better offer to give, usually by $1000. Another negative is that although they're pleasant and nice at Carmax, they make you wait too damn long to get the appraisal price (I've gone on...
  18. Civic X Life Expectancy

It is interesting that price and reliability are not positively correlated with cars. Sometimes that IS the case (like shoes and clothing.....up to a point), sometimes not (cars, watches, etc.). But I think if you're going to buy a luxury car, you need to be aware that service/maintenance WILL...
  19. Bluetooth as audio source: what use?

I sometimes use bluetooth to listen to my music from my phone and the music player I use for Android is called Gonemad. It has LOTS of customization, has gapless playback, and the developer is always tweaking it (and will reply back to you if you send him a question). I rarely buy apps for my...
  20. Air and cabin air filters

Speaking of filters (engine air filter specifically), does anyone know why the Civic turbo has screws while the LX and EX trims have clips? (can't confirm myself, but someone on the forum who has an EX wrote me in a private message that this was the case). I replaced the air filter in April and...
