  1. How many of you have almost no issues with your Civic?

I've had my car since July. Daily driving short trips to work, one long road trip and only 2200 miles on it. No issues so far to speak of. My car is not the Touring model - I have the Thailand built spec 1.8EL with leather & 8 speaker stereo. No subwoofer to rattle. The transmission hesitates...
  2. It's the little things that count

The tail light covers look great and I think that is how they should have been designed in the first place. I had seen some ugly chrome ones and wondered if someone would do them in body color. Would look good in plain metal with body color, too.
  3. Who's a Five Footer Here?

I have to say that the sight lines are confusing to me, at least compared to my previous cars. The front wheel 'bulges' on top of the hood make it look like the side edges, but the car is wider on the sides from fender flares. My previous compact was straight down the sides all the way down...
  4. Who's a Five Footer Here?

My wife is about 5 feet and with the power driver seat all the way up, she still has trouble seeing. Hence, she's not allowed to drive it until I get a cushion. Any old cushion that gives her a few more inches will do, I reckon.
  5. 20 years apart

Side molding looks good. Was that dealer installed? They don't seem to offer that here in Thailand, but have another version that I do not like. I've got a silver sedan, so maybe it wouldn't look too bad, but yours would give better door protection. 2 weeks old, and mine has a tiny door ding...
  6. Vesul armrest secondary storage for center console

Hi X302, it looks like it fits well in your Aussie version, so I reckon it would work in my Thai version, and it looks good. I have the same fixed front cup holder and one loose cup holder (no little tray) and rear USB charger. The Thai version got a cheap little carpet piece on the bottom of...
  7. Favorite Driving Songs.

+LA Woman - The Doors +Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf +Driver's Seat - Sniff & The Tears +Radar Love - Golden Earring (Every time this song came on in my old 70 Barracuda in college, my foot would automatically go down) "I've been drivin' all night, My hand's wet on the wheel There's a...
  8. New Here? Introduce Yourself!

Wow - so, they export the fold down seat version to you, but don't offer it locally in any spec in Thailand. That's a burn... The other goodies you have are here as well on various models. But I don't think the sunroof is offered here at all. Strange that they wouldn't at least offer those...
  9. Road noise (tires?)

My Civic 1.8 EL (EX-L?) came with tires called Hancook in Bangkok (Again, low spec/high price - a normal thing in Thailand). Also noisy on some surfaces you would not expect... On a Nissan Sentra that had (cheap) Goodyears, I changed to Bridgestones that were about 20% more expensive and it made...
  10. New Here? Introduce Yourself!

Are the Aussie Civics made locally or imported from Thailand? I ask because in Thailand, they don't even offer the fold down rear seats, but I saw them on the Aussie Civic website. I was so anxious for the fold down seats so I could put my bicycle in flat...Real disappointment here with lower...
  11. Cleaning exterior plastics

All the brands mentioned above are not available in Thailand. I use the 'normal/original' Armour All stuff that I can find locally on the wife's Sentra for years and it seemed to work well. The black window moldings and rubber seals still look pretty darn good at 14 years. (Had company cars that...
  12. Best Combo for Water Beading/Sheeting

I always washed my wife's Nissan Sentra with Kiwi household floor cleaner 'including wax' on a weekly basis. Waxed the car twice a year with whatever available, and 14 years later, the finish is still great with people saying how good it looks. I plan to use better products with the new Civic...
  13. What little tips and tricks do you know?

In Bangkok traffic, the Brake Hold is a god-send. Stop and go traffic is so much easier. When you come to a complete stop, just take your foot off the brake and it holds. Works on hills as well.
  14. New Here? Introduce Yourself!

Hello All, First time Honda owner. I am an expat living in Bangkok and bought the new Civic 2016 1.8 EL (no 2.0L here due to higher tax). Very nice, even at inflated price in Thailand. 1.8EL is the second level spec with leather interior. Opted for the silver w/black interior. The Civic is not...
