Yeah, definitely. Like I said earlier though this car is mostly for commutes and just some fun. Like a 60/40 or 70/30 split, even. So I don't mind getting a car with a lower level of fun, as long as I can still have some fun at least.
That's not the issue, though. I'm not choosing between a civic and the frs/brz. Like I said in the OP, the cost of having an frs/brz ended up being higher than I expected so I can't do it. So I'm looking to get a decent car that's cheaper.
Did you really have to bump my thread up just to say that when it's full of interesting opinions about it that are already 1000% more helpful than whatever the heck you just wrote?
gr8 thx.
Thanks for telling me! That sounds like a really great deal :D If I do go for the civic I'm planning on getting the EX-T as well, so a price around that would be amazing. Might look around the peninsula first but I get the feeling it'll be more expensive on this end because they probably want...
Mind if I ask which dealer you're looking at? I'm in the bay area too (judging from your listed location, you are as well).
I went to a Honda dealer in Santa Clara the other day and they were quoting me just a few hundred off the MSRP. Planning to shop around a bit more if I can.
I looked at it but the other thing is I don't plan to get a car with a MT. Like I'd said earlier I don't really need a true sports car, just something fun to drive.
Plus the Fiesta is a bit on the smaller side at that point and I wasn't sure if the engine with the AT would be as nice to use...
I actually never have. This would be my first car and the people I know aren't really into driving roads like that. I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the recommendation!
Edit: Oh wait I do haha. I just know it as Hwy 152 haha. But I've never driven it myself, just gone through as a passenger.
I was just at a dealer looking at the sedan. The sales guy I was talking to pulled out his "list" of when new cars are coming onto the lot (so I could plan for when the color/trim I want is coming).
He was completely surprised when he looked at it. He pretty much said "oooh. hm. hatchback...
Yeah I'm in the Bay Area too actually. I'm thinking of taking drives out like in the Santa Cruz mountains (highway 17 and around there) and stuff like that. Very curvy roads all around here.
I think people misunderstood my OP :( I never meant like a high-powered car or legit sportscar. Just a...
Well guys I'm a little disappointed.
I went to a dealer here in the South Bay today (near SF) to test drive the car for the first time myself. I figured what the hell even though the sedan and coupe are pretty much the same car I'll try both. The guy on the lot who got assigned to me complained...
That sounds pretty good, as far as the wheel and tire set goes.
I can't really imagine being able to spend that much right away for a set (though it'd be nice, you got a really sweet-looking set). If decent tires alone are only about $148 each that could be doable. Does replacing them really...
I mean yeah I already know it's a Civic which isn't a sports car itself and generally isn't going to be a sporty car in general. But like I hopefully implied well enough in the OP, I plan to use it more like 70/30. 70% commuting/general daily driving, 30% fun driving trips for the heck of it...
This is actually the most solid comment in here so far, just getting straight to the point instead of being like the others just saying pretty much "well duh it's a civic", which I already know.
How much do wheels/tires like that cost? Problem here is I'm trying to budget things out more, and...
To be honest, I was originally planning to buy a twin (FRS/BRZ) because I wanted a somewhat inexpensive sporty car. I don't need tons of power and I'd heard the twins are great in curvy roads, stuff like that.
But my price range has gotten quite a bit lower because I realized the complete costs...
