That video is a great example of the noise! I was always worried something terrible would happen to the engine though haha.
I tried data logging again today and came to no real conclusion aside from driver error on my part, and that I need to install the PRL intake to get the aggressive bucking...
Are y'all running an aftermarket intake or MAF housing?
Today I tried testing to duplicate the issue:
Flashed dual factory/19.5 PSI tune with rev hang disabled
Turned off cruise main
Coasted in 2nd gear and tried light and heavy throttle inputs from ~3,000 and ~5,000 RPM
Of course the car ran...
I'm really glad to see a thread on this. To be clear, are we talking about the buck/lean spike when getting back on the throttle?
To reproduce:
Disable rev hang and make sure cruise main is OFF
Coast in gear, say 3rd at 50 mph
Step on the gas
Throttle opens but engine doesn't produce any power...
I have a little too much time on my hands, so I figure I'd start a thread on corrosion prevention. None of our cars are very old yet, and the best time to prevent rust is sooner rather than later. This could be good information for those that like to work on their own cars, keep them for a long...
Still on stock wheels myself, but hyper black seems like a good choice. I've been eyeing a set of RPF1s in SBC.
If that's too boring there's always Work's beautiful Asterism Black...
I'm usually hanging around the Amherst area driving like a grandpa lol. I've seen one black coupe in the area, I think it was in the Target plaza around November! Guy in his 20s maybe?
A few years ago, a friend and I decided it would be fun to PlastiDip the inside of his green 1999 Ford Escort. I still have nightmares from removing it when it was time to sell. It looks much better on your car than it did in that rolling heap
I'll have to try some 3-in-1 or something. They must have run out of lube when they made our cars.
Glad to hear that's all it took for you! Was not eager about reporting it to the dealer.
That pic made me realize we're talking about a different Log Cabin - I was referring to the one in Corfu.
Either way we could get some people together for sure. Dare I say we could invite the FB crowd.
Great driving roads out that way. I had no idea they had car meetups at the log cabin - I'll have to check it out.
What I can say is they have a great steak & scallops dinner
Have you had any more issues with your driver's door? My 19 coupe has the same issues with the driver's door in cold weather - outside handle doesn't work and the inside handle/tab doesn't budge. Of course there was a wall on the passenger side the last time this happened, so I had to crawl...
