  1. Anyone with Diode Dynamics SS3s? How did you adjust them?

Yes, with a bit of modification. It sill uses the stock mounting location, but instead of being sandwichd between the fog light garnish and bumper cover, the SS3s are now behind the bumper cover, as it moves the pods further aft and allows some space to pivot. However, I can't speak for...
  2. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

So I was set to have the scratch be buffed out. But fate had other plans in the form of a low-speed collision so close to work. All parties involved are ok. In an attempt to make a right turn, I made sure to yield. However, I neglected to look at what's in front of me. The result is I...
  3. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Made a dumb mistake. I never thought this would happened, but I scuffed the rear three-quarter backing into my garage. Though it looks like it can be buffed out. Whether or not it's by a body shop or detailer, I don't know.
  4. DIY: Aftermarket horn install

I have a similar set of PIAA horns installed just using a splitter harness and a pair of horn adapters. The setup works fine. The horn circuit is apparently rated at 10 amps. And the fact that the Si and Type R have two horns, I highly doubt Honda altered the electrics. The only issue I had...
  5. Morimoto Projector Lights for Honda Civic

You are better off with something like the G5-BRT or Micro D2S. There's a Black Series to G5 bracket that makes the projector swap easier. https://lightwerkz.net/products/black-series-to-g5-brackets-civic-altima-maxima The threads above are great references. During the interim, you can...
  6. OEM LED to Halogen/Aftermarket HID conversion questions.

I think the guy is on Facebook selling these harnesses. You can shoot him a PM, if you have a profile.
  7. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Nothing exciting, but just an alignment done after driving over a nasty pothole caused by construction. File this under stupid mistakes. Though it does give me the excuse to look at new wheels.
  8. Cheaper ways to upgrade headlights

The cheapest and best upgrade for halogen projectors is the Philips H9 swap. Despite all the claims, replacement LED bulbs perform worse in the Civic's halogen assembly. Here's a comparison between the stock halogen assemblies to the factory LED...
  9. Winter sucks

It's the first time ever I've seen the in-car temperature read 0°F. And that commute was brutal. I was so disgusted that I waited at least half an hour in the car wash queue.
  10. LEDS not bright enough

As recommended from TacomaWorld, German Philips H9s. I bought my set from Menards. For the high beam, I went with Korean Sylvania 9011. Just like the H9, some trimming is required, though no modification is needed on the connector.
  11. LEDS not bright enough

In the Civic's halogen projectors, the H9 is the best at it matches the H11 in terms of optics. Plus the H9 is far cheaper than an HID kit. I knew I wanted a better setup. At the time I didn't know whether to go with OEM LED assemblies or a retrofit, so I stuck with thr H9s as a stopgap. When I...
  12. LEDS not bright enough

Just a little trimming on the locking tabs will allow the bulb to insert into the projector. If you want to save a step, you can remove the green end caps on the connector, allowing the bulb to plug in without issue. This was my setup until I had my assemblies retrofitted. Though in my...
  13. LEDS not bright enough

At that point, you're better off with the factory LEDs, which has its own downsides. Does that quote include new assemblies? If so, that about right. For what it's worth, I had Lightwerkz retrofit RX350 projectors in my stock assemblies. They did a fantastic job, too. Any LED advertising...
  14. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Here's the aftermath of driving through the light snow. Nowhere near as majestic as Tac3403, but these Continental DWS06+ were fantastic. The Civic handled it with ease. Now, if only I can wash my car with these low temperatures.
  15. Change battery proactively

If I remember correctly, Canadian Civics have an H5 battery, which opens up better options compared to the undersized 51R American Civics get. Just my two cents, but I say get an AGM.
  16. New 10th Gen Owner.. w/ hacked mini USB wires

Previous owner may have had a hardwired dash cam.
  17. Aftermarket Headlights - Any Recommendations?

I say try to hunt down a used set of factory LEDs. They will be the best option if you're dead set on LEDs. Here's a comparison between the factory LED and stock halogen. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-hid-vs-led-vs-halogen-h11-projector-headlights.589465/page-289#post-27523431 In...
  18. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Mine's finally paid off! To celebrate, I replaced the Diode Dynamics bulbs I installed initially to something better focused. GTR Lighting I-LED to match my turn signals. These utilize the reflector bowl better. Next should be a good detailing. And maybe paint correction...
  19. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

One of, if not, the best tires for the price. I wanted a set for my CX-5, only to find they don't make it in the size I need. Or I'm expecting too much out of an SUV. Definitely the latter...
  20. Aftermarket Headlight Flickering

Are the connections ok? What about the battery? If either are fine, it could be the assembly itself. In that's the case, you're better off replacing the headlights with something else.
