In response to all the Mazda recommendations - They are fun to drive, no doubt. However, they are far from the Germans regarding luxury and comfort. This isn't obvious on a test drive, but a long drive will make it very apparent. The seats are most obvious shortcoming. Those are behind the...
We may not really care if the Rev Match option is there or not. I never turn it off. Does the on/off status for the rev match just stay at the last setting with this upgrade? If so, that's fine with me.
If I was getting an SUV, it would be a Macan. But based on what you're saying, you should get an Audi Q5. Ideally, get an older SQ5 with the supercharged 3.0 engine.
My wife and I have had several Audis and BMWs, sedans and SUVs. The Audi is the more luxurious and comfortable vehicle, and...
I left MN for FL in 1994. Why do you people still live there? A bunch of CTR guys are hitting a track day on Dec 31 in northern Florida. Sounds like you need to make a road trip during the holiday break.
Every new CTR owner reads that article and gets worried. Most people on here, including myself, will tell you that the torque steer increase with ET45 is very minimal. You really only feel it in 2nd gear which is rarely used on the track. The increased tire width you can have with ET45 far...
I've had my CTR for about 3 months, and just did my first track weekend at Sebring a month ago. I just went through this myself. I bought a 2020, so I can't help with your overheating issues. I didn't overheat with everything stock, but that doesn't help you.
What day are you going to the...
My wheels are the same specs as yours. I'm running PS4S tires at a 275 width and not getting any rubbing. You'll be fine with 265's.
Here's a zoomed in pic from my recent track day. I like the vertical sidewalls you get with a 275.
I appreciate the comments on how to more easily change the oil, but that's not what I need help with. I could use my QuickJacks for that. My filter relocation idea is a fun project for me. That's where I need some advice.
I've been using my Mityvac for several years now. It works great...
I just got the car, so haven't done a filter change yet. From what I've read, you have to remove a skid plate to get to the filter. That's not a huge deal. Getting the car up is the more time consuming part. On it's own, my relocation idea doesn't make sense. These aren't difficult tasks...
Oil changes on my last car were very easy. There was a cartridge style oil filter mounted vertically in the engine bay. Changing that was no-mess, and since I use a Mityvac extractor for the oil, I could change the oil and the filter without getting under the car.
After my first track day...
I did some reading on the Paragon website. Here's an important finding:
R7 Compound:
The R7 “Maximum Friction Track / Competition” compound is a full race compound with maximum coefficient of friction. With higher stopping power and maximum effective operating temperature, the R7 compound is...
In @Lust's first post, they showed the picture below. I can't figure this out. Is 0 good, or is 10 good? It seems logical to me that the P2 (yellow) street pads would have low effectiveness and initial bite, but would also give the longest rotor and pad life. The graph doesn't show that...
