I had my OEM battery that came with my civic die on me once. Got it replaced at Honda with another OEM and it died shortly after running accessories while the car was off waiting for my GF to finish work. I immediately replaced it with a battery from Costco and now it never dies, even from...
Hereās 18x9.5 +35 on 245/35 vs 255/40 side by side, respectively! Both are on D2 springs.
You can see the minute gap difference but it is noticeable! The Si on the left has absolutely no fender rubbing but has clearance w/ the Greddy lip. My non-si still has minor fender liner rub on big dips.
Depending on what suspension mods you'll do in the future, 18x9 +35 is aggressive. The wheels are going to look super funny on stock height. I couldn't live with my 18x9.5 +38 wheels on stock height because it looked ridiculous (see pic below).
I'm on 255/40 tires and I wouldn't run anything...
Stock engine 2016 Honda Civic EX-T here with 105k miles.
I've had no major engine issues whatsoever besides a rear main seal leak. Normal oil changes based upon maintenance reminders and CVT fluid changed every 30-50k miles.
I've had to change both axles due to clicking but that's just wear...
Alright yāall, the long awaited update is here! I finally got my D2 springs on after a whopping 4.5 hours this afternoon lol.
The fitment was 110% WAY too aggressive without any modifications on a 255/40 tire. If youāre going to run D2 Lowering Springs, the MAXIMUM tire size you can run is...
Great catch on the incorrect offset! It looks like the person posted the incorrect offset in their posting and I was too excited to double check haha. I doubt the 3mm less of offset makes a difference, but I'll update back when the springs/wheels are on this weekend.
Hey all,
I managed to buy a set of Work D9Rs in 18x9.5 +38 that came with 255/40/18 tires for an absolute highway robbery of a price ($1500 lol). I was debating on either Tein S-Tech or D2 Lowering springs but ended up ordering the D2 springs. Currently awaiting their arrival.
For those of you...
I received my letter in the mail finally.
I had my gf's brother, a Honda Tech, take a look at both my Compressor Seal & Evaporator today. He had put UV dye in after previously doing my condenser TSB for me and lo and behold... BOTH the compressor seal and evaporator core are leaking lol.. FML...
You're lucky to even find a babied 2019 Civic Type R for around ~$40-$45k. I think I've thrown in the towel on the 10th gen CTRs and I'm holding my breath on the 11th gen one not being hideous.
Iāll definitely check out the firewall side of my engine and entirely around it. The first time I brought it in, they said it was transmission oil so they put dye in it. This time they said itās not so I just donāt trust my dealership anymore lol, especially since theyāre refusing to do anymore...
Update: They said they have to do a complete tear down and need to pre-authorize $900ā¦. They said it could be the rear-main seal, some other seal or gasket, or the oil pan gasket. Said no UV dye in the oil that was seen leaking. Theyāre not willing to put dye in the motor oil to determine where...
Whatās up everybody!!
Iām looking for some advice regarding a CVT transfer case leak.
A month or so ago I brought my car into the dealership for a transfer case leak. They put UV due in the fluid and told me to come back within 10k miles.
I recently found oil on my transfer case/transmission...
Update:
took my car to the dealership and they said the transmissions case just needed to be tightenedā¦ and that they wanted me to come back in 10,000 miles. Not what I really wanted to hear but not much I can do. It was all covered under warranty.
Let me know what your dealer does s for you. Iām taking mine in Wednesday morning. Praying my entire transmission needs to get changed under warranty so Iāll have a partially new car hahaā¦ One of my Honda tech friends said their foreman tells them to wipe it up hence why I took so many photos to...
I discovered it just recently when changing my engine oil. Itās a bit dried up / semi-slick still but itās only dirty from all the dirt/grit that the road kicks up.
I actually had this happen on my ā16 EX-T! It happened to be the turbo solenoid near the top of the engine near the firewall. It threw all sorts of warning lights just like what youāre getting. However, I still had power steering and all that, my turbo just didnāt work. Iāve attached a photo of...
Hey yāall,
Iāve been searching around the forums and I guess my car was one of the unlucky ones that came down with what looks like a CVT Housing leakā¦ Iām still only at 75k of my 100K warranty thankfully so hopefully the dealer covers it.
However, I wanted to see if anyone else recently ran...
