  1. Transmission fluid check bolt. Is there one on the Type R?

I just used a 3/8ā€ square drive for the filler bolt. Also my biggest breaker bar and a mallet for ā€œimpactā€. Maybe try a couple extensions to find one that fits best, due to tolerances. To avoid removing the filler bolt, I donā€™t see why you couldnā€™t fill in from the check bolt hole. But it would...
  2. Low Profile Ramp Suggestions

I believe this was the shortest ramp I could buy from RaceRamps that my Civic Sport Hatch would clear (stock height). https://www.raceramps.com/ramps/race/p/rr-56/ A little pricey, but Iā€™ve heard of cheaper brands failing, so I gladly splurged for the peace of mind.
  3. Perfect Oil Change Intervals Experiment

Just because you double cooked your burger and did not get food poisoning doesnā€™t prove that single cooking your burger is somehow more risky. Letā€™s just agree that this statement doesnā€™t imply anything other than ā€œdouble cooking a burger doesnā€™t make it any more likely to give you food...

  5. Wake the Dragon 2024

It was a great time. Iā€™m already looking forward to next year. For being 4 hours away from me, I canā€™t miss it. Great people, and beautiful location deep in the mountains. It was my first time at ToD, so that was hectic. Iā€™m glad I did the newbie run. Being part of a pack for a clean run was an...
  6. Accidental Reset Maintenance Minder

Iā€™m actually going to change my oil next week so it being reset to 100% a few days ago will probably be within 10% of what it actually is and Iā€™ll just change it per usual after that.
  7. Accidental Reset Maintenance Minder

Thatā€™s what I was thinking - that they reset my oil change task and maybe also tire rotation and air filters tasks at worst. Which is fine. Yes to what? That they just reset all due items?
  8. Wake the Dragon 2024

Iā€™m honestly 50/50 on if being in the slow group was a mistake lmao Hope everyone has fun and safe runs tomorrow!
  9. Wake the Dragon 2024

Iā€™ll have to find you forum peeps tomorrow after the runs (and Iā€™m running in the slow group). I walked up to the meet-and-greet tonight and realized I didnā€™t know what anyone looked like (duh, casper). If you see a neon-green/yellow jacket wearing dude thatā€™s me haha.
  10. Wake the Dragon 2024

How were them stars? I may try to check them out weather/time permittingā€¦ maybe after dinner tomorrow. Forecast looks clear.
  11. Accidental Reset Maintenance Minder

I do, and I actually have a spreadsheet of all my maintenance too, it just frustrates me that the MM could be garbage until I cycle through the maintenance tasks again. Iā€™m also trying to make sure the less frequent maintenance tasks (like the first coolant flush), hadnā€™t been reset.
  12. Accidental Reset Maintenance Minder

My dealership managed to reset my MM during a state inspection. Whatever. I just have a few questions nowā€¦ 1. Can anyone tell from my attached pictures if only my ā€œoil lifeā€ was reset or ā€œall due itemsā€? I suspect itā€™s the latter, but I hope it isnā€™t šŸ˜¢ 2. Can anyone confirm that their screen...

Iā€™m heading up Thursday night! Planning on joining the newbie run Friday morning :pickme:
  14. Amount of Brake Fluid Needed - '21 FK8?

@ez12a has a video on it - he states at least 3 small bottles and each bottle is 354 mL. For brakes only. With clutch probably wouldnā€™t take much more, since that system flushes really quick.
  15. Weird Scratch And Ding On The Door

    Door from a lifted truck?
  16. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Just curious what those symptoms are? Iā€™m in the same boat as you, my FK7 is my first manual car and itā€™s hard to tell whatā€™s ā€œabnormalā€ versus ā€œnature of the beastā€ šŸ¤”
  17. Disposing engine and transmission oil

this is what I started to do. Especially because the auto parts store oftentimes wonā€™t take brake fluid or know what to do with used oil filters.
  18. Brake Bleeder Sizes

The shown flare-nut wrench or the box-end of a combination wrench will work. You want to use the correct size and something that wonā€™t accidentally slip off and round the bolt. You probably canā€™t use a socket because the bleeder nipple pokes out some amount. Or if you were bleeding the brakes...
  19. Question on MM

I think Honda recommends at least annual oil changes. Itā€™s been about 4 months so about 30% down in the oil life sounds about right. The MM uses mileage and time to calculate the oil life.
  20. Best cleaning product for stock exhaust tip. 2018 Civic SI Coupe
