  1. Shifting help

    1. We're far from talking about racetrack driving. Obviously, OP is not ready for that. I'm talking about downshift rev matching on normal driving. Not heel-to-shifting either. Just smooth downshifting and giving gas to rev match, that is all. But I am absolutely on the same page about...
  2. First time SI owner

Oh yeah, good point brought up by mdmayberry09, don't do the tune until you break your car in first. Honda recommends 600 miles. I'd advise 600 easy city driving miles. So it may take more than 600 actual miles. I'm at 1000 mile now and now the car feels broken in with maybe slightly more...
  3. First time SI owner

I would go with tint, scotchgard the seats and the trunk carpet, all weather floor mat, mud guard and a good radar detector (LOL). For the PERFORMANCE, I would say biggest bang for buck that you'll notice significant improvement in performance would be ECU tune and a set of performance tire.
  4. Shifting help

I think what mike means is that auto rev matching does it so efficient and quick that it makes it difficult for him to use downshifting and engine braking to supplement his speed control. Thus, losing that part of MANUAL control of driving a manual transmission car. Civic Type-R, although it...
  5. Emissions Problem after Fog Light Install

Hmm....maybe you bump a wire or something while installing? :hmm:
  6. Si interior “mod”thread

I love it! Better than my wife's Mashimaru car seat pillow. I need to get 'em!
  7. Guy falls out of 10th gen Civic

    What in the F*(#?!?!?! o_O
  8. Who Uses 93 Octane?

If your car is designed for 87, it really doesn't matter if you put higher octane fuel. If your car is designed to take higher octane fuel, absolutely makes difference. There are lots of youtube videos and online articles debunking higher octane is always better theory. I think making sure...
  9. Next step in performance?!

I second high performance tires. Makes world of difference in handling. In my book improving handling trumps improving 0-60. That's why my next weekend/track/toying car will be a Mazda MX-5.
  10. Shifting help

I would recommend that you actually turn off the auto revmatch feature off since this is your first manual. I understand it would ease your anxiety a bit when downshifting, however it'll also delay your senses from being in sync with the vehicle. What I mean by that is that your hearing...
  11. Civic Si PDI

I was just wondering if it has pic of Jack points like all the other PDI sheet for other Civic variants I've seen. I'm looking to PDI how to for dealer mechs. Not the list with checks us owners get when we purchase it. Congratulations btw on choice well made.
  12. Civic Si PDI

Anybody have Civic Si PDI pdf file handy?
  13. 2018 SLOW-MOVING ACCORDS

I was cross shopping Accord 2.0T Sport Manual when I was shopping for my Si. That engine has ridiculous potential just by tuning and it has VTEC. Fairly comfortable too when I test drove it. It was just dull maneuvering it and had long throw (smoother though) shifter. Ultimately, Si's...
  14. Gear grinding to 2nd

It happened to me one time going to work. Scared the heck outta me. It was first gear shifting from 1st to 2nd gear that day. I'm thinking maybe cold temp issue? I go to work at 5 am and it's been cold as hell. Once it warms up, I had no issues.
  15. Clutch install shop recommendation

Hello all, I've recently got a 2018 Si and just got done with initial break-in mileage. Now I am looking into installing clutchmaster 350 so I can buy a Ktune and have no slippage issue. To those who got a new set of clutch, can you guys recommend me a good reputable place?
  16. Why are s2000 so expensive?

I have no idea when it comes to s2000. I was just browsing through used car listing for s2000 and they are still going for alot of money. School me on this, oh Honda fans!
  17. Is this true?

From my understanding, at the end of a lease, you can either keep the car and pay/finance the value of the car, return the car to the dealership and wash hands, or trade-in only if the value of the car exceeds the residual value of the car on lease contract (make few bucks in doing so). I think...
