  1. When was the last time you saw another Civic Type R on the road...?

They must be waking up from winter hibernation. Today I saw a CTR LE in Alton, NH. That's the first one I've seen in the wild. I saw a couple at dealers when they were first produced. Then, on the way home, I saw a red one. A new daily high - two.
  2. When was the last time you saw another Civic Type R on the road...?

Saw a 2017 Aegean Blue one today. First of that color I've seen. He pulled into a gas station so I followed and chatted for a bit. The car has about 115,000 miles and has had no real problems, the owner said.
  3. Unusual Tire Wear? Anyone Else Have Wear Like This? Original OEM Continental Sport Contact 6's

It will certainly increase the central area contact. It will also wear that central area quickly. I don't recommend 40 PSI. But, try it if you want. See how it works. There should be a label on the driver's side doorjamb with the tire pressure information. My US model says 35 psi Front; 33 PSI...
  4. Unusual Tire Wear? Anyone Else Have Wear Like This? Original OEM Continental Sport Contact 6's

I'd look for a new shop. Zero front toe is right in the middle of the acceptable range (-0.8° to +0.8° each). The spec for rear toe is slight toe-in (0.04° to 0.16° each). Zero toe is slightly outside of spec. If that bothers you, just set it to the minimum (0.04°). 40 PSI might be OK for a...
  5. My Car is being held Hostage at the body shop cause of a backordered part

Most places say "unavailable". This place doesn't say that. They may still not have it, but... https://www.hondapartsconnection.com/oem-parts/honda-2016-2020-honda-civic-molding-assembly-r-front-door-sash-72425tbga01 good luck
  6. Honda wheels

Didn't mean to step on your comment. I thought I was responding to the OP. Sorry.
  7. Honda wheels

They're close. The offset is 55 mm. Not much different from the CTR of 60mm. If you find those for a good price, they're good. Just make sure you get four front wheels. The rears are 20".
  8. Honda wheels

The 60mm offset is the problem when trying to find after-market wheels. There aren't many. The FK2 and FL5 wheels have that offset. For your alignment - the zero toe is good. The 0° camber is probably not possible. You wouldn't like driving it anyway, I don't think. Camber in the -1.0° to...
  9. Honda wheels

The fact that the OEM Conti 6 tires wear out in around 15K km has nothing to do with the fact that they're 20". The same tire in 19" or 18' will wear out just as fast. It's a high-grip, high wear tire. Still, 15 K km is low. I get that in miles, not km. The inner edge wear is almost always...
  10. Unusual Tire Wear? Anyone Else Have Wear Like This? Original OEM Continental Sport Contact 6's

Both sides, front and rear. You want as close to zero as possible. A tiny amount of front toe-out can help with turn-in. A tiny amount of rear toe-in will add a little stability. Still, you'd rather have zero for street driving.
  11. I finally got my limited edition today 3 years late

Congratulations. Good luck with it. Have fun.
  12. Humming, highway noise, tuning fork sound, bearing or gear damage. 60-70mph

OK, so now I'm pissed. I said above that Honda wanted me to put my OEM wheels back on so they can see that the noise is still there with those wheels. I'm sure it will be, but I said "OK, I'll play." I should mention that while the dealer had the car they did a "Complimentary Check" on a number...
  13. Humming, highway noise, tuning fork sound, bearing or gear damage. 60-70mph

I'm sure mine is worse than when it started. I'll let you know if Honda comes up with anything (or I do).
  14. Humming, highway noise, tuning fork sound, bearing or gear damage. 60-70mph

Sometime in the Fall. Then I switched to winter tires. It was happening on the Summer Contis, but seemed a little worse on the winter tires. I kind of blamed it on the winter tires, but I tested the summers again and it was the same. It's getting worse. It started as 69-72 MPH. Lately, it also...
  15. Humming, highway noise, tuning fork sound, bearing or gear damage. 60-70mph

It's very high-pitched. Still, maybe. It's warm enough that I can put my OEM summer tires on. I'm going to do that and take it back to the dealer. As I said, I already know that it sounds the same with those wheels/tires. I'm just playing the 'see if Honda can fix it' game.
  16. Humming, highway noise, tuning fork sound, bearing or gear damage. 60-70mph

I have exactly this problem on a completely stock car ('21 CTR). At 60-63 MPH or 69-72 MPH on any road I get a high-pitched whine if I touch the throttle even a little. Off-throttle the sound goes away. Happens in 4th, 5th, 6th. So, it's not engine RPM related. I took it to the dealer. The...
  17. what MPG does your gauge cluster read for your average fuel?

The gauge usually says 28-29.5 MPG. But, my actual MPG (miles travelled divided by gallons used) is 27.3 over 25,000 miles. That's for the CTR. The Civic hasn't yet needed a fill from new.
  18. Unusual Tire Wear? Anyone Else Have Wear Like This? Original OEM Continental Sport Contact 6's

When you put new tires on, have it aligned. By aligned I don't mean having it checked for being 'within factory specs'. The factory specs are a very wide range. That wear you're seeing is likely because of too much toe. To keep it simple have the shop set the toe to zero all around. With stock...
  19. When was the last time you saw another Civic Type R on the road...?

Saw my first FL5 today, a white one. Type R of any kind are rare around me. Since 2017, I've seen 8. This FL5 was at a dealer's but it had normal plates.
  20. Installing a physical CD player in a new 2024 Honda Civic Touring Sedan?

Another vote for this ^^^. All your CDs will fit on a postage stamp sized memory card. Well, on about 500(!) of them. I did it myself, but there are many services to do it for a fee.
