I did this recently. I was able to get it just by detaching the front of the front pipe where it connects to the downpipe. The front pipe is flexible enough that this was enough to get it out of the way for the motor mount bolt. Having a second set of hands and a lift also makes it much easier...
I don't think I got any pictures but got the report. I'd have to look again what all I got. They also replaced the other parts that are under the warranty while they were already in there to get ahead of it.
When I was at the dealer and they gave me the quote I asked the service rep to submit the goodwill claim for me and he did. He called back a day or two later saying it was approved.
Otherwise you can call in to NA Honda as people mentioned above to get one submitted.
Do you have pics of the intake condition? I live close to you and could pick it up.
Edit: just kidding, the pictures didn't load at first, now I see it. Is it the street or race maf version?
Surprisingly good news. Dealer called yesterday and said Honda approved the good will ticket. So same as other people on here have experienced, it will be $500 to replace the evap, and they said they are also just going to do the compressor and condenser parts that are under warranty while they...
Thanks, yeah definitely didn't have them do it right now. I asked the service rep about submitting a good will ticket and he really didn't seem like he wanted to. He said he would and get back to me in a couple days, but I doubt he will. So I'll submit one myself today.
The compressor and condenser are under warranty. The evaporator still hasn't been extended yet, even though they have just as many problems as the other parts.
I've been following this thread since my ac starting blowing warm a couple weeks ago. Took it in yesterday hoping it was one of the warrantied parts.
Got the results today, evaporator fail. They quoted $1700 for it. Absurd. Any idea on when they will warranty the evap as well?
I saw another...
Just found this thread cause I took my car in yesterday for ac and just received the $1700 quote this morning for evaporator on my 2019 type R, 50k miles.
Any updates on any warranty extension for this? If not, what's the best way to go about getting this fixed without paying so much? Good will...
Hey Guys, did a quick search before posting but couldn't really find the answer I'm looking for.
For some background, I was doing an E-tune with Kefi a couple years ago and got about halfway through at the time he disappeared and I haven't heard from him since, so I never got a finished tune...
