I have a wonderful 2020 Si sedan that meets many of my needs but for a time kept jonesing about a Type R. Well, I decided to get another street legal car more oriented toward race but not rice. It is a 2014 Stalker Classic R. Sporting an LS3/480 engine with 495hp and 473lb/ft of torque. The fun...
Suggest rather than using SeaFoam whos formula was designed for marine engines, consider getting a bottle of Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner which GM recommends for their DI late model Corvettes.
I was reading your thread and thought geez, that guy is kind of old, being that he is 73. Then I looked at my driver's license and realized I am only 1 year behind you:eek:
I so agree with all of your premises. The Type R is a very amazing car! No question of that. The Si is well behind. However, I am finding at my advanced age that I can hustle the Si around an autocross course fairly quickly and the front wheel drive, manual transmission, turbo and suspension are...
Are you f***ing kidding me? I just raced this weekend against a 2019 Type R where this really great guy paid $16k more for a used 2019 recently than I paid for my 2020 Si brand new. I hate to argue, but a lot of people don't buy these for their racer boy looks although I think the looks are...
Wildbilly32, I am not sure how the SCCA classes different cars in autocross. It is not just a function of horsepower because a rear wheel drive Subaru BRZ that has about the same horsepower as a Civic Si but I think weighs a bit more also runs in a faster class.
I agree with you that a 1-2...
This has been a fun thread to see all of the various reasoning behind our decisions to buy or not buy a Type R. In a rather longish post I made about the SCCA Solo National (autocross) results between the Type R and the Si, some did not believe that the differences in performance were not much...
I am tickled to see so many people wanting to jump on the Type R bandwagon and are having so much fun with their cars. Having bought a 2020 Honda Si for general driving and to occasionally hone my driving skills, I take it for short jaunts on autocross courses. I read many of the posts of some...
I didn't include a picture today after I changed the oil and filter with genuine Honda 0w-20 synthetic oil, Honda OEM filter and a new crush washer. If I hadn't done it properly, torqued the drain plug to 32 lb.-ft, OEM filter to touch and then 3/4 of a turn and put 3.7 quarts of oil in this...
Dan, I hope you, your family and your CTR are fairing OK during the flooding I have been hearing about in Bucks County.
Heard from Dan and he said that he and his family were spared from the floods and tornadoes that touched down in his county. Great news!

However, I really admire our supply chain managers on this site that are keeping the goods flowing in very challenging times. Also very fascinated with packaging engineers that figure out ways to ship goods without generally...
I have owned several street-legal race cars and the CTR does not adequately fit that description. True race cars for track use that happen to be able to get licensed for the street can run scores of laps without the coolant overheating and the ECU cutting the power suggest that the CTR's are...
Talked to the distributor of the 22mm Whiteline swaybar and they highly recommended applying Blue Loctite to the threads of their Whiteline end links on the bolt that goes through the end of the sway bar and requires the 5mm Allen wrench to keep the bolt from rotating. Also added the Whiteline...
A very interesting thread. I just turned 72 but am still basically a late-teenager when it comes to go-fast machines. However, I am married to a young-for-her-age 65 y-o wife who had advised when I expressed interest in getting a Gen 10 type R that she would not be caught dead riding in a car...
When the OP first started the thread, I was thinking that in some ways, my 2020 Si sedan was sort of lacking a bit in character. I kept looking at pics of CTR's and was even contemplating maybe trading my Si in for a CTR. Well, a local dealership got in one of what is likely the last 2021...
OMG! They installed a back window for your front window replacement. No wonder your wipers are all screwed up;) They look correct to me. I just took a picture of my 2020 Civic Si Sedan.
JSR, I looked at your build list and can understand why your Si has a bunch of money in it. It is amazing to me to see how many components people can put on their car to add performance and looks all in one package. I suspect you have had a lot of fun adding all of the parts you have listed. Bob
