  1. Auto High Beam Inconsistent Behavior

My point was I asked a question: "Anyone else experience either of these issues?" which obviously implies I'm seeking feedback from other Civic drivers who have used the feature. The other poster hasn't even used the feature and was basically just saying not to use the feature. That's why it...
  2. Auto High Beam Inconsistent Behavior

Well, the 2019 Civic has DRLs so it would never be totally dark even if I didn't have my normal beams set for auto and forgot to turn them on. But I do have those set for auto as well. I mean, why not? If there's a technology that makes life easier--even just a little bit--why not take...
  3. Auto High Beam Inconsistent Behavior

While I love the auto high beam feature on my 2019 Civic when the feature works, I've noticed a couple issues with it over my 2+ years of ownership. The first issue is that often on a pitch black road, they will take forever to come on--like 10 seconds. Other times they seem to come on...
  4. Small chunk out of tire sidewall

Thanks. No problems at all with the sidewall and the glue is still holding the "flap" down.
  5. Small chunk out of tire sidewall

Well, so far so good after 2 weeks of all sorts of weather and driving speeds. The adhesive is very watery, and cures in 30 seconds or less. This is a picture I just took:
  6. Small chunk out of tire sidewall

This wouldn't' be a patch. It's the original rubber that I'm simply gluing back in place. I'd assume since it's an adhesive meant for rubber that it would have some flex to it. Will let you know. The way you said it originally made it sound like I could harm something by gluing it back, so...
  7. Small chunk out of tire sidewall

Why not? I just ordered some of this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09NBFFVPD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  8. Small chunk out of tire sidewall

Just took it by my mechanic to have it inspected. They said they see no cause for concern unless there were any bulging/bubbling in that area, which there is not. But of course I'll keep an eye on it to be sure I don't see any changes. Keep in mind it looks much smaller in person than it...
  9. Small chunk out of tire sidewall

So pi$$ed right now. Brand new tires and I managed to curb it and this is the result: It's about 1/16 inch deep. Safe to drive on? If so, what could I use to glue/bond the flapping rubber flush with the rest of the sidewall?
  10. Extra Load Tires?

I guess it's just they recommended the tire for other reasons, and it just happens to be "XL" though that feature makes no difference in my case? Anyway, I emailed the service manager earlier today and asked. Will post their reply when I get one.
  11. Extra Load Tires?

Oh, I wasn't worried about it. I'm just curious why they specifically are required or recommended for my specific vehicle.
  12. Extra Load Tires?

Took my Civic in to my regular mechanic for an annual inspection. Only issue was front tires needed to be replaced. I had them go ahead and replace all 4 tires. They recommended BF Goodrich Advantage Control tires. On the invoice and tire sidewall, I noticed these tires are rated XL (Extra...
  13. Parking brake not engaging when I undo seatbelt

No need. I can see now that apparently I did not have the auto-brake feature active the times the parking brake did not automatically engage. Apparently the feature where it does engage when auto-brake is active is not even mentioned in the user manual, so I doubt any person I would actually...
  14. Parking brake not engaging when I undo seatbelt

Um, I DON'T exit my vehicle with it in drive. I'm simply saying it would make sense as a safety feature should someone inadvertently do that. Not sure how anyone could disagree with that in theory. imo, Honda should have the emergency brake auto-engage ANY time the driver's seatbelt is...
  15. Parking brake not engaging when I undo seatbelt

Yeah, I just wonder why Honda would design it so it only works with auto brake engaged. For sure it makes sense with auto brake engaged. You do what you did accidentally, and if the parking brake hadn't engaged and something fell on the gas pedal, the auto brake would disengage and the car...
  16. Parking brake not engaging when I undo seatbelt

Here's the scenario I have in mind. You're sitting in your car, stopped, and some sort of emergency/life-or-death situation happens where you have to get out of your vehicle as quickly as possible. Obviously you have to remove your seatbelt to do so. In your panic, you do not manually engage...
  17. Parking brake not engaging when I undo seatbelt

Ok, so I tested this again when I got home, and apparently it looks like you DO have to have the auto brake feature engaged for this to work. Makes no sense to me, but I tried the following: 1. With auto brake engaged, my foot on the brake pedal, car in Drive, I released my seatbelt and the...
  18. Parking brake not engaging when I undo seatbelt

Why the hell would anyone want to do this on purpose? Sorry, but I fail to see the logic here. You'd rather the car be able to roll away if someone accidentally forgot to put it in park? lol, ok.
  19. Parking brake not engaging when I undo seatbelt

Thanks. I always use the brake hold feature, so I don't think that's the cause (i.e. when the parking brake doesn't auto-engage, it's because I don't have the brake hold feature activated). Plus, that would be a strange criterion for a safety feature, which should activate whether you have...
  20. Parking brake not engaging when I undo seatbelt

Ask yourself: if you take off your seatbelt and exit your vehicle while forgetting it's in Drive, would you rather the emergency brake engage or not? imo, it would be stupid for it NOT to be a safety feature. Yes, obviously something is strange here, and I'm curious if anyone else has insight...
