That’s pretty normal for an Si, when you drive it conservatively.
Back roads at 55 mph.
Highways at 65-70 mph.
City streets at 45 mph (just rolling out of gear).
Downshifting when climbing hills but pulsing the throttle when you climb.
All of it together, is just sensible driving with a...
Same.
You can reliably get an Si over stock TypeR power, and surprise a few people.
The Type R is a predator though. A modified one will blow you away.
I haven’t named my Si.
My father had an old 9th gen Thunderbird. (The same kind I was brought home in, as a newborn.)
He called it, “The Animal”.
His had the the Mustang V8 engine. He loved that car. Lasted him 15 years, before it just gave him too many problems to keep fixing.
And...
My AC stopped blowing cold and my local Honda service department took care of it, no charge.
But…!
I’m starting to hear the weird squeaky bubbly noises again. I first heard these sounds when the AC was on with the first condenser, for weeks before it finally went bad.
It’s been about 10...
Yes.
I’m using 50% ceramic, and it cuts enough internal light in combination with the other tint, to give me privacy.
You can’t see the “Si” on the seats unless the Sun has an angle aiming right in through the windshield. And 50% enables you to see OUT very well even at night.
As for...
50% on windshield.
5% on fronts, backs, and rear.
Stock OEM tint on sunroof.
With all windows closed, and sunroof cover slid back, there is a illumination inside the car from above.
Open the sunroof, and leave the air conditioner on when you’re going for a nice ride out, and it’s cozy AF.
My...
My Si is a daily.
But you’re right OP. This thing has amazing handling. And not just amazing handling for a front-wheel drive car. It has amazing handling overall.
I added lowering springs to lower the center of gravity just a LITTLE more. and installed sway bars. All that did was add a little...
Not a Civic, but closely related!
The Prelude looks beautiful. Well-maintained. And it ran so well.
I was a little nervous about the tires, but you can't actually tell what he was running. I was also a little nervous about how he was holding the wheel, but he when he gets into it he finally...
I notice folks usually recommend someone tune FIRST, before installing any bolt-ons.
If someone doesn’t intend to do anything more than a CAI, then I guess this makes sense.
But I also get the OP’s question.
If someone is going full bolt-ons.Doesn’t it make more sense to do the tune last...
Old thread.
Good read.
Mazda has stepped up the game for their lower models.
I’m surprised that people said the 3 and the 6 were slow. Because the new ones definitely are NOT slow.
The Speed3 and Speed6 have always been monsters that put a lot of power to the wheel.
I hope to see a new...
I was off today. Fueled up with premium at Costco and went for a nice hard run out in the Virginia countryside.
Kicked on Waze, Apple Carplay and had a nice rock/metal/hip-hop playlist on Apple Music going.
Sport mode is life.
Cut through winding country roads at a nice solid 70mph. Smooth...
WHY?
Why did Honda do this? lol
Why didn't they just give the Si the same performance as the CTR?
Why didn't they just give the CTR the same creature comforts as the Si?
Just offer them as two different trims!
You can beef up the value of both trims!
The CTR would simply be THE BEST...
Nah.
The CTR is clearly, indisputably, a better performance vehicle.
It just is.
It has a stronger engine, and actual functional aero.
But I like my Si.
The CTR is too aggressive aesthetically, and doesn't have the creature comforts I've gotten used to.
The Si is sexier and more aggressive...
