Right or wrong, i haven't tried his solution yet, so I can really judge the person. I posted the link to get some feedback before I commit to his fix.
Anyways, after 2 CMC and Clutch position adjustments, I purposely aimed to make the CMC travel farther and clutch throw longer, and it's working...
I have read quite some of your posts, but the thing is, I believe most of us aren't that technically knowledgeable about the new honda clutch system. So, when I, for one, saw people arguing with your theory, there was no way to tell who to believe, and risk a wrong fix, Until that I have done my...
So, I have heard about the extra damper Honda added to the FK8 before the link, but couldn't confirm its effect on the gear change. Now, I know, I feel Honda did such a stupid thing to the R.
They advertised it as helping to preserve the clutch because they knew people would do launch and clutch...
I might responded a little harsh, because the "just don't drive hard", "fixed for ya", certainly sounded very sarcastic and fanboy ish. But it's no longer important, I did my research, and found a youtuber confirmed my suspicion on the issue.
Here's the link, and I'm really considering it...
So, I have had a few 2nd gears grinds, and I was looking for an answer on this forum. THE most ridiculous answer I got was "don't drive the car hard, fixed". As a honda lover myself, it was the most laughable excuse I have ever heard. In the Honda civic's flag ship car, famous Nur record holder...
Ok, no offense. I don’t even Drive hard to start with. I took care all the manuals i have driven, and never banged my gears in the R. I got my grind only because i revved 1st gear past 4000 rpm.... on a car that’s capable of 7000. Listen to yourselves? That’s called “drive hard”?!
The other day...
So, I guess you have no issue with fast shifting now? Like 1st gear to red line and fast shift to 2nd like you run for 1/4 mile.
All 3 grinds I have had in my 6000 km of driving were during high rpm shifts from 1st to 2nd, like around 5000rpm. This is easily avoided by shifting early and...
I already changed the transmission fluid, but that didn't eliminate the issue. How much did you adjust your CMC? should the biting point change after the adjustment?
My understanding is that, after the adjustment the Clutch should disengage earlier before going all the way to the floor...
the infotainment I can live with, but the 2nd gear grind and occasional 1st lock out is real, it’s pretty much proven at this point the transmission does have its quirks. If you shift slower at lower rpm from 1st to 2nd, it never happens, but it’s certainly annoying, and an oversight from Honda...
Well, being a technical person who built tons of nitro RC cars, I'm very curious how those engines works, and the extra knowledge may help me with future tunings, or even tuning my car myself
1) PSI? obviously more turbo pressure is supposedly able to increase power output, straightforward...
do you mean stage 1 on 3rd map? I assume it's your 2017 Civic sport 1.5t. (all those civics have 1.5t you know). You need to be more specific for people to help you out
I do agree with cooling off the car after driving hard. However, for warm up, I feel 10-20 secs is enough. 2 mins is kinda ridiculous unless it's like -10 degrees in the winter, or you are going to drive really hard right away, like on track.
I was a person who used to warm up car every time i...
I'm going to wrap my car next month. I was planning on gloss black, or Satin black, on the hood vent, the whole roof to the end including the small fins, or whatever they are called.
Now I have seen your car, I'm wondering if I should just wrap the whole hood black. The difference is you...
Personally, there are 2 Things that nailed the coffin. 1) The physical buttons added since 2019, and 2) the better dampers from 2020
I tried the touchscreen on 2017. horrible experience on a already laggy infotainment. The new buttons were life saving. Most time i use the buttons and knobs, and...
Yes, I refunded my deposits, 2 deposits at different places, only until after I got my R. Don't back off from anything until you have your hands physically on a R. At the same time, more info should come out later this year on the new 2022. This should help you make your decision.
Weak point, but you can also see that his Si is far from stock anymore. A factory Si was test around 20 psi, and 205 hp. I bet his car is at least in the mid 300 range already with all the stuff added. somehow I feel he was mentally prepared though, lol
Depends on your priority on that dealership's order list, and when the order was made.
If you are like 4th or 5th... on the list, and the order was made during the later half year of 2020. Don't count on it. Unless you are super lucky and suddenly everyone in front of you lose their jobs and...
Both stock, I would take 2020 no question. I drove a 2017, and have a 2020. The changes are quite considerable if anything.
Are you talking about the black R on auto trader with 7510km?
