  1. Rev match steps safe?

Do you mean "automatic" rev match? I think the Si has it, too. My car does NOT have it, which is why I was looking for help with the steps for rev matching the old fashioned way.
  2. Rev match steps safe?

Thanks, I was wondering that too since last posting. Figured it was okay to lighly accelerate in those gears in certain siutations but was going to ask, so you answered my follow up questions. I do downshift to 5th for inclines - is 5th good enough for those that aren't extreme at highway...
  3. Rev match steps safe?

That makes sense. Now that I have "my" process down, the few times I've tried the ways mentioned above lately have been easier in regards to getting the timing down. Before, it was just hard to try to do it all at once so blipping first seemed natural in my mind. Thank you!
  4. Rev match steps safe?

AegeanT - thanks for the tips! I see what you mean about it being more of a process than a list of steps. I will keep that in mind as I practice. And I never realized that about 5th gear, will drop it down further when passing on the highway. hobby-man - thanks for the clarification. I've...
  5. Rev match steps safe?

That's good to hear. Now that I've been practicing more, I think that should be easier. I struggled to get the steps down so just went with what was easy for me. What do you mean by 5th being an overdriven gear? Thanks for the help!
  6. Driver side mirror replacement necessary?

I ended up replacing this with the parts listed in my last post. Luckily other videos show how to line up the actuators, so knowing that process made this a lot easier than I expected. Here is a photo of how it turned out.
  7. Resistance when shifting out of 1st gear (6MT)

I have a 2017 Hatchback Sport MT, with about 19,500 miles. About half a year ago (18k miles or so,) I noticed a strange feeling when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I push in the clutch all the way, and as I pull 1st gear down I feel the slightest bit of resistance or stickiness. It's right when...
  8. Rev match steps safe?

I have a 2017 Hatchback Sport (which does not have the automatic rev-match feature.) Last summer I did some reading about how to rev match - never have in this car or in any other manual car. I thought I had the process down, but now I am wondering if the way I do it is incorrect. For this...
  9. Driver side mirror replacement necessary?

I've been looking further at parts and videos and realized I may be able to do this myself after all. I don't believe I need the entire assembly anymore. This video has a car with much worse damage: He ends up replacing the mirror as well. But for my case, I should be able to just replace the...
  10. Driver side mirror replacement necessary?

Hi everyone. I managed to scrape the edge of my driver mirror on my brick garage. The skull cap part popped off. The middle clip broke (I popped it back on before realizing the broken piece was still in the housing, but the cap is surprisisngly snug and secure after popping back into place.) I...
  11. Front Underbody Spoiler Damaged

Hey actually I ended up taking it to a local body shop. They fixed it up within a few minutes no charge. Sorry that's not a lot of help but wouldn't hurt going somewhere reputable and asking! That diagram is useful, too.
  12. Product Advisory All 16-18 1.5L Turbos

Is this your vehicle? Can you give us any other details? Cold climate, odometer, driving style, mods, check engine light, fuel smell when checking oil? I have a 17 Sport as well and have had no issues that I am aware of.
  13. Extended Warranty: cancel due to 1.5L extension?

I had the same plan for around the same price on my prior car. I decided to skip it on my current Civic since I don't put a lot of miles on it. I am talking about the extended warranty in this case, though. I believe you are referring to the maintenance plan. They are both separate Honda Care...
  14. Extended Warranty: cancel due to 1.5L extension?

Hi everyone. I paid $1,100 for the 7-year/100k mile Honda Care extended warranty. I've had the car just over 2 years, and have less than 10k miles on it. If I were to cancel and get a pro-rated refund, I estimate it would be be about $770. I was not considering cancelling my extended warranty...
  15. Maintenance Minder questions after oil dilution recall?

Awesome, thanks man! Pretty much lines up with the manual, and knowing that it will be time vs miles for a lot of that stuff makes it easier to not stress about. I am curious - do you know if the code for something like the air filter will pop up if I don't get down to 15% oil life? I am hoping...
  16. Maintenance Minder questions after oil dilution recall?

Thanks for the reply. Yes they must have forgotten - I am just trying to make sure I reset it correctly. And yes, I that's what I am trying to do. The hard part is that Honda pushes the MM so much and doesn't list miles/times for maintenance items in the manual, so it is hard to take ownership...
  17. Maintenance Minder questions after oil dilution recall?

Hi everyone. I do not drive a lot of miles and it had been nearly a year since my first, and last, oil change. I went to a dealer to get my oil changed yesterday (70% oil life.) They let me know about the recall and the software update, and that it would require an oil change that would be free...
  18. When to drive car

Great, thanks for replying. I feel like I am a little too cautious if others are using 3k as their limit in the xold. Especially in 1st gear, the car definitely likes going from 1st to 2nd at a higher RPM than 2k.
  19. When to drive car

I had read another post here a year or so back that said stay under 2.3k RPM until up to temp. This being my first winter in the Midwest, I took it a step further and tried to shift right around 2k RPM on my morning commute, on my 6MT. Is shifting the manual that soon causing lugging? Nothing...
  20. Lugging the engine

Wondering the same, lol. Mine has been minmal but after reading this, I kinda regret upshifting shifting below 2k while the car is warming up. Also wish I would've fosnshifted a little more often up yo this point.
