  1. Gear "S": Sport or Second?

Don't you think that if it was second, they would have labeled it, oh I don't know... 2? Besides, in a CVT there is no second "gear" to speak of, unless you are simulating stepped gearing like CVTs with paddle shifters do. Then that's confusing to the masses. It's Sport. And it's also in the...
  2. Setting to turn off engine when out of car ?

Not only is it unfathomable for someone who is conscious enough to drive to leave their push-button car running after getting out, it's also amazing that they either ignore or don't hear the rapid beeping car loses detection of the proximity key as. At least I think the Civics have this; I know...
  3. Torqx Random Orbital Polisher

I don't know anything about that product, but I would suggest going with a proven brand and product line like the Griot's garage 6" RO Polisher. It's more powerful than the Chemical Guys and I can vouch for it's performance. I've used it extensively and it works great...
  4. Buying a new Civic

First of all, my hat is off to you for being so responsible with this gift and looking out for your folks' best interest! As for pricing, like Rawnerve said, check the "price paid" thread and look at TrueCar for some guidance on what kind of price can be had. Also, might be a good idea to look...
  5. Problem with Rear Window Tint -- Light refracting

According to my tint guy, Honda's defrost lines tend to be on the thicker side compared to other manufacturers. On my Accord Coupe, the refraction is pretty noticeable, especially since the slope of the coupe rear window is more severe than a sedan. I also had ceramic tint (Huper Optik)...
  6. What are these options?

I guess I missed your post. It looks like the 10th Civic wipers work differently than my '13 Accord. Mine are certainly not speed sensitive and only slow the intermittent wipe interval when the vehicle is stopped. They make a full sweep when the car begins to move and return to the interval set...
  7. What are these options?

No, the wipers do NOT adjust to the speed of the car once it's moving. They are only slowed to a longer intermittent interval when two conditions are met: 1) Wipers are in the fastest intermittent setting (at the least, maybe other intermittent speeds, I'm not sure) and 2) The vehicle is...
  8. Cool interactive ad featuring 2016 Honda Civic

Because wireless charging in an accessory item and Honda rarely shows accessories in its advertising and chooses to focus on standard and available factory features. And because they wanted to show Apple Car Play (and mention Android Auto) which require the phone to be connected directly to the...
  9. Fit and finish problems?

My bad, didn't see that part. d'oh! Carry on with escalation, then. Sounds like it's the only way you're gonna get any movement from the dealer. Although, you could mention to the dealer that you intend to contact Honda Customer Service as any issues with assembly are NOT acceptable. In your...
  10. Fit and finish problems?

I think contacting Honda corporate is a bit premature. Just make an appointment and let the dealer sort it out. Calling it a potential common problem based on one case is jumping to conclusions, methinks. Probably just a loose clip. It's a mass-produced vehicle, everything can't be perfect 100%...
  11. LX Keyless Entry / Locking Question

I think it will only prevent you from locking the doors with the key in the ignition. Only cars with smart entry and prox key can detect prescense of the key fob in the interior an prevent locking it in the car.
  12. Mystery Color? No Official Color Thread

Urban Titanium is not a color option on the 10th-Gen. It's MSM. If you have seen it in person in various lighting, you'd recognize it right away. It can appear light to dark gray to a bit of a plum-violet hue in bright sunlight. There are really no other colors this could be. Hate to burst your...
  13. Mystery Color? No Official Color Thread

That's Modern Steel Metallic. Looks different based on the lighting conditions. See here: http://www.civicx.com/threads/official-modern-steel-metallic-civic-thread.188/page-2#post-6140
  14. 2016 Honda Civic COUPE Preview Event - CivicX Live Coverage

Looks like they brought an EX-L but does anybody else see the steering wheel? Does it look leather-wrapped to you??
  15. Serious Dillemma: Is '16 worth $3500-4000 more than '15

As far as the CVT goes, Honda has been using a CVT in the Accord since 2013 and in the Civic since 2014 (I think) and even on the early cars, had very, very few issues. I've put 40k miles on my CVT Accord and haven't had any issues worth mentioning. I wouldn't worry about the CVT.
  16. Black or White?

White shows more dirt than black? Since when? A black car looks dirty 5 minutes after it's been washed. The white shows some dirt, and doesn't maintain the clean appearance like a silver or gray would, but no comparison between white and black for clean appearance when slightly dirty. Also black...
  17. Decided to go in a different direction

I completely understand your decision on the V6 Accord. I really thought about jumping form my '13 Accord Coupe EX-L i4/CVT to a Civic Touring, but I am also interested in an Accord EX-L V6. I really want a more refined ride for my next car. I like the way the Accord drives and rides, and I...
  18. Full Stop for Honda Sensing CMBS?

Well, I guess I mis-interpreted Honda's website for the Civic which states: "Helps bring the Civic to a stop when it senses an otherwise unavoidable collision with a vehicle detected in front of you." I guess "helps" doesn't mean that it will stop with no driver intervention. I'd really like to...
  19. Full Stop for Honda Sensing CMBS?

^^ CMBS and ACC are two different things. OP, in most circumstances, CMBS can bring the vehicle to a stop, either with or without warnings depending on the conditions if a collision is imminent.
  20. Honda US site updated with 2016 Civic

I just tried on Safari on my iPad and can't see the transmission options, so can't get very far into the builder. I assume they will fix the issue soon.
