I loved my Civic, but damn that car was cursed. 3 not a fault accidents in the 3 years I owned it and then it gets totaled by hail. So I picked this up today.. 2021 Tacoma. Here's a pic with my busted up Civic in the bZckground.
We just had a huge hail storm here. It happened so fast. Everyone I talked to is pretty sure the insurance company will total it. Here's some quick pics I took before it got too dark. I'm so sad, I love this car and it was so close to being paid off.
Had a little red light to red light action with a new Supra. He was lowered with a loud exhaust. I'm tuned and with a cai, otherwise stock. I pulled on him pretty quick, was pretty easy. Those cars look pretty quick. Maybe not?
You should be monitoring IAT and IAT2 temps. To me it sounds like your turbo is getting heat soaked and pulling back timing. The intercoolers are quite small on these cars and that's my next upgrade plan.
IMHO I wouldn't screw with that setting. Engineers took a lot of time to calculate what the perfect engine temp has to be to get the best performance and best fuel economy. I really can't see any advantage in changing it but maybe that's just me lol
I know you replaced the battery but did you have the alternator tested to make sure it's working properly? If not I'd start there and start checking ground connections. Faulty ground connections will look very rusty or lots of corrosion. I really don't think this is a timng chain issue.
So last night I hit a piece of ice on the road. Right after I heard a loud scrapping sound. I pulled over and saw a piece of plastic dragging on the ground. I limped the car to a mechanic and he said the whole plastic shield underneath needs to be replaced. Price of the part is $1200 Canadian...
No, not necessarily. The computers in these cars are very sensitive to what voltage they receive. I'd have the battery checked to make sure it's not defective.
So stupid me lost one of the bolts that hold the air cleaner to the engine. It's not the tiny bolts that hold the cover on. Any idea where I can find this bolt? There's 2 of them. They're pretty long, silver in color.
This is perfectly normal on Honda's. Mine has done this since day 1. Start the car and voltage is 14.4 volts. If there isnt much electrical load it will settle down to around 11.5 volts. Good way to test it is to turn on your ac and high beams and it should stay a constant 14.4 volts.
