Absolutely the design speaks for itself. There are aeros done well and there are aeros that simply speak RICE. Its amazing how a Golf can go just as fast as the CTR with lower HP and without the need for RICE looks.
Dude I could care less if you buy 2 or 3 Type Rs. If you like huge wings great more power to you, however spinning ones infatuation of huge wings into some unproven science of downward force is just ridiculous.
If you want to buy the Type R and don't care what it looks like that's good go for it. However it's just ignorance and just dumb RICEr mentality when people claim that all that ridiculous aero is for downward force. Especially when its close competitors like the Golf has no need for such things.
The Civic Type R recently broke the FWD record beating the Golf GTI Clubsport S. I won't be surprised if the Golf GTI Clubsport S will break the Type Rs record like it did previously. The VW Golf never needed a ridiculous aero kit to go just as fast as the Type R. But you people talk about...
Record what? Downward force? haha I already drove cars with or without the wing you even researched my car so I'm already telling you there's no difference.
I already told you there is no difference when I drove my cars with or without the wing. Those articles are from seasoned automobile reviewers who have driven far more cars than anyone in this forum and they make a comment like that. All you are relying on is a Honda add.
You are reading marketing material. Those aren't always the facts. lol
If you've seen the Top Gear review from the previous Type R they pretty much nailed about ridiculous aero designs. It pretty much applies to this new Type R.
The bodywork is very +R…
Ah yes, the thorny issue of the way...
I even put cross drilled rotors in my car and done all sorts of customization simply because I can do that. I can tell you what is actually functional or not.
hahaha when its raining outside I drive pass by SIs, WRXs and a whole bunch of cars with a minivan. I'm like damn those cars should be able to handle way better with all that aero . Yes there is science behind aerodynamics but there is real world everyday driving and actual track application...
I didn't put that wing for functionality that is mainly for customization. I'm not make up stuff like oh I felt a huge change of that downward force when I was driving because there is none.
hahaha exactly I'm amazed how RICERs pull up a wind tunnel video and actually grab science just by watching it. There are tons of wind tunnel videos out there from different cars and huge ridiculous wings not needed hahaha.
In the real world I have seen Sentras and Corollas beat SIs or WRXs on time attacks. The Type R lap time around the Nurburgring will not make other type R drivers fast. Now that is embarrassing.
The development of this Type R was closely watched by car enthusiasts all over the world and the whole time Honda made adjustments to its suspension where they came up with that dual axis system to reduce torque steer, turbo etc. They did not refit the type R with different types of wings to...
Yes I understand where you are coming from but driving a car with a ridiculously huge wing especially on the street does not make you a track driver it will not gain any sort of performance. It only makes the driver look like a fool.
BTW that comment you made earlier going 60 is ridiculous. You do not feel that downward force at highway speeds. Get yourself better tires and I am willing to bet your car will handle way better than someone with an oversized wing. If you go to the track FWD cars have a huge spoilers in their...
