Add me to the list of victims. Mine may have taken longer than others because the car has been garaged the past three years. I've contacted Honda by e-mail but not expecting much based on what I've read here. 2016 model, well past any warranty.
I had a similar sequence of events. In 2019 my 2026 Civic's AC went out. I took it to the dealer and they diagnosed a compressor issue and they replaced that. Since the car was just out of warranty (and they were probably already becoming aware of the widespread issues) they only charged me a...
I finally just stopped carrying the keys with me when I'm not driving and all the phantom trunk openings, windows rolling down and panic alarm going off stopped. It's really a shame they couldn't have just made the system less sensitive or designed the key fob in such a way that it was harder to...
The verdict for me was:
"refrigerant level excessively too low, leak from the compressor shaft seal. Performed an AC system performance test, readings out of specs do (sic) to leak. Replaced the compressor and transferred parts. Replaced the condenser desiccant filter set, evacuate and recharge...
My car is like 3 days out of warranty and when I tried to turn on the AC today all I got was this hissing sound. That's a sound I usually hear for a second or two before the AC comes on, but this time it just stayed on and the air coming out didn't get any cooler. I scanned quite a bit of this...
I understand that the thieves want to resell the airbags, but why mostly Honda? Since the ones they are stealing are not on the Takata recall list what's the added value? Wouldn't it be just as lucrative to grab Toyota or Ford airbags? Or is there something about the design of the Honda airbag...
I had one of these thefts last night, another Civic and an Accord near me also got hit. This is a well lit parking lot in view of about 20 or so condo units. The Civic already has a blinking led, but apparently breaking the car window and taking out the airbag dosen't set off any kind of alarm...
My airbag was stolen while parked in front of my condo overnight. The thieves broke the glass and took the airbag out. Is the alarm went off I would have heard. It clearly didn't.
Actually no, the sticker on my 2016 Sedan says they were already using the 2017 EPA standards. The LX hatchback is only 1 mpg lower than my '16 sedan so I think the engine difference explains it.
I've had some similar experiences. Two times I've walked outside in the morning to find my trunk open. Also at least once I've heard the alarm go off from my living room. In all cases I assumed that the button on the fob got mashed up against something else, but now I'm beginning to wonder. At...
Couple things.
I think the height and angle of the rear window on the sedan makes cars behind seem closer than they really are. I noticed the same effect driving a Kia Rio.
Two, maybe the drivers behind us are just mesmerized by the taillight design.
I'd go with the sensing because it's more unique. You can get turbo and leather on a lot of cars but Civic is the only one that offers anything like Sensing at its price point. You'll have a car that's ahead of it's time today and won't seem so out of date in few years when this stuff is...
So I was driving my LX Sensing with the Adaptive Cruise Control activated, I signaled to change lanes, decided to stay in my lane and tried to turn the signal off but it wouldn't go off, I could get the signal to go in the other direction but not off. After pulling the lever up and down and back...
I was driving my Civic LX this morning in an area that was higher elevation than where I usually drive and the low tire pressure warning came on in the center dash screen below the speedometer. I pulled off the road and checked tire pressure and all were at 37 PSI (32 PSI cold is normal, but I...
I'm coming from a first-year Ford Fiesta, which has been Consumer Report's 1st or 2nd least reliable car for its entire time on the market. Amazingly I didn't have many problems until year 5 and even then they were not the catastrophic transmission issues that many experienced. I feel a lot...
My deal:
Civic LX with Sensing
Out the door was $22056 including freight and tax and fees.
The car itself was $19893.
I got an unexpectedly high $3500 on my trade, so I decide not to push much harder on the price.
