Interesting about the A/C going out. Wonder if that is a Honda problem? I have a Honda Fit & A/C went out on it. Had extended warrenty, so that covered it. Now have over 88,000 miles on it & very few problems. Should go 200,000 miles at least.
Thought: the cyclist did it on purpose to scam you & took off cuz you were calling 911. No phone, address, insurance is a big red flag to me. I had that happen to me. Guy on small bike came outta nowhere & I hit him as I was taking off. Police officer happened by a few minutes later. She talked...
Just remember that you never get a perfect shift every time, so don't worry about that. I have been driving sticks since before cell phones and usually do OK, but once in awhile..... Hope your car lasts you a long time. My first Honda was a 1986 Civic Si 5 speed hatchback, first Si w/ fuel...
I'm new to the forum. Just found out that you can buy a Civic R crate engine, altho have to tell Honda it's for track use only. Has anyone bought a crate engine, and what did you use it for? Any way to get around the track only option? Thanks.
The 1.5 engine is pretty small & even with a turbo, it can only put out so much HP. You're also running it harder to make HP than you would, say, with the 2.0 engine. I watched back to back videos of the Si VS the R. It was amazing how much of a difference there was. I wish Honda would just use...
Just asking, but is the 2.0 engine in the LX the same engine that is in the R. Or should I say the same basic engine, since the 2.0 R engine has a lot of different internal parts.
I had a 1986 Civic Si hatchback. It was the first Si with fuel injection. Little 1500 CC engine, but I could hit 100 MPH in 4th gear, 115 top speed in 5th.
Thank you everyone for your replies. Am thinking about the CVT. Currently have a Fit with 5M trans, & it has that throttle "hang up" that was mentioned. I know it's for emissions but don't care for it. Also am aware a turbo car needs premium gas, so that is another reason I wanted a 2.0 engine...
I'm looking at the Civic LX, 2000 cc & either 6 speed stick or CVT. Asking for advice; would this be a good car to buy? I know it's not a turbo, but it would be the model I'm interested in.
Thanks!
