I have them on my hatch. You can position them so they are just off the bumper before tightening them in place. No issues with heat.

I would suggest that you make it a rule that you only give advice if they are willing to participate in your project. Simple as that! It would be terrible to see you leave the forum and I think most members would agree.

kinda scratching my head that the rear seats don't fold down in the new N. That's a feature I'm not sure I would want to do without.

I would also recommend just pulling the head unit. It's easier to access the wires behind it.

Yeah I just tried swapping relays and that didn't do anything. I don't think it's getting to the relay. Seems like a problem at the steering wheel.

Audio upgrades back in July. Added amp and sub in the back and small amplifier off the head unit , new door speakers in the front doors. Swapped out high, low beams and fogs for led. That's about it . was just inspected in December so I know it worked then.

Best bet is to drop the glove box and pull out the head unit. It's really easy , YouTube it. You'll want The wires there if you make additional upgrades anyway. The wiring diagram is in the service manual (available in the Maintenance forum.)

I did mine through the grommet that the hood release cable is routed through like in this video. The pen trick worked well also.
