I got an amazing deal on my 2020 CTR from Bob Boyte Honda in Jackson, MS (I flew there from Houston, they picked me up at the airport). They have an LE in transit, not sure if it's spoken for. Ask for Milton or anyone in the internet sales office. They apparently get alot of out-of-state...
It was Mungenast. Really nice guys, their policy was to not charge over MSRP for CTRs (I assume all their Hondas), which was refreshing. And also explained why they had a 4+ deep waiting list on incoming CTRs. To be fair, I think they'd have keep track of my interest better if I provided a 100%...
Agree, I had the same experience for a dealership in Missouri (they were selling all CTRs at MSPR), I asked to be put on the list and it never happened.
Use Honda's inventory tracker, it seemed fairly accurate. I believe dealerships can/reserve sell the car once the VIN is allocated to them.

Bob Boyte Honda is getting a CW 2021 in soon. Call and ask for Milton. I bought my 2020 CW back in May for below MSRP...no jacked up addons or other BS, you get it just like it came off the truck.

This has been my experience as well, your first contact will likely be from a third party if you submit your info online. I called 30+ dealerships between Colorado and Georgia and only 1 called me back directly with a price so good I didn't even haggle. Better to call them directly than to...
The best part about waiting to get a good deal on a CTR is sticking it in the face of all those dealers who will be calling to see if you're still interested (im looking at you, Big Star Honda).
Bob Boyte Honda in MS sold my 2020 CW for $1000 under MSRP, zero add-ons (ask for Milton). I didn't think much of it when I noticed the awards in the showroom, but apparently it's the only dealership to get Honda's Preseident award for 14 consecutive years (as long as they've been open I think)...
No surprise, but I found that dealerships that didn't have any CTRs for months (Texas) weren't offering any deals when they did initially get them. They're despite to see if 2019 prices will stick (what recession?) States that had CTRs on the lot for a few months were sometimes willing to offer...
Those CF add-ons have no value to you unless you'd have bought them anyways. You could sell them afterwards, buying and replacing them with the non-CF versions...but that sounds like so much extra work...I'd hold them to something closer to $35.5, you have all the leverage.
Also, we all know...
Look at these clowns in Austin...so proud of their $5,699 markup they made this the main image for their CTR on Autotrader. I bet the 3-year interior protection is actually just a free* vacuum.
*with purchase of oil change
I like how the some of the sales staff emphasized how rare the car was...
Great dealership, and it was a nice, scenic drive through Mississippi. I'm tempted to drive it back for my first oil change, maybe stay a few days.
I'm enjoying telling all the dealerships, now desperate for sales, that I'm no longer in the market...almost as much as driving the CTR.
I'm in Houston, and until 2 weeks ago maybe 2 CTRs came through...all well above MSRP. There's a Red one in Covington, LA that's been on the lot for over a month...they'll probably go $1000 below MSRP. Oddly, they wanted $1000 over MSRP for a newly arrived white CTR.
There were no deals in...
