4 hours of scraping with 3M Adhesive Remover and it's all off! I did a quick wash after and the surface still feels a little gritty, and there is some yellowing underneath, but on first glance it feels like the clear coat is still there, but dulled a little bit. There are some leftover yellow...
It took about 3 hours of pressure washing, but I got the outer layer all off and all that's left is the adhesive.
I was able to Goo Gone some spots and it's actually coming off nicely (except for the yellowing underneath, but I heard that was normal and should go away after the sun washes it...
I'm not necessarily planning on rewrapping, maybe I'll have to see what that costs versus just having a body shop just repair the clearcoat. But I do have a pressure washer, so maybe I'll give that a shot! Thanks for the insight.
I got the roof of my car vinyl wrapped about 4 years ago and last year it started cracking badly. I finally have the time/budget to remove it, but the shops near me are (understandably) quoting >$700.
I tried scraping it with a plastic razor in the sun, but it's slow going. The paint underneath...
With the rise of lifted trucks and SUVs in my already accident-prone area, I have been feeling a little bit wary that a bad driver will just plow through my skull. But sports cars are always a risk in a lot of ways, and I have enough faith that the Civic chassis is rigid enough for most...
Yeah, I got tired of paying $75 every few months for someone to just put in mid oil + filter, so I just threw a Fumoto valve on my oil pan and now I change it with a good oil, good filter, and it only takes me 30-ish minutes and $25 per. Would be even faster if the undercarriage panel had...
IIRC the MM oil change percentage is calculated based on a lot of factors, including your driving habits - it's not a strict "x number of miles" counter. So just go off the MM and change at around 30%.
I change my oil every 5000-7500 miles, and I just go with whatever big name full synthetic is...
The first car I bought, right before finishing college, was the first gen HR-V.
The '04 Camry I got handed down was burning oil like mfer, and I had just enough scholarship money leftover for a decent down payment. I went to the lot for a Civic LX, first year that 10th gen was out, and I liked...
I'm at 50k, and my left axle is shot - the dealer near me said it's covered under powertrain warranty, just waiting for the part to get in now as it's on national back order.
Our platform comes with a really soft rear sway bar stock, and the difference in responsiveness/body roll with an aftermarket one is pretty big, especially for a relatively low price.
Feels a little show-offy, but I wanted to add a little interior smiles and got Acuity's shifter charm hanger plus a little AliExpress Rainbow Six charm. :D
I just moved to this full shifter a month ago (going from just the cable bushings+centering spring+base bushings on the stock Si Shifter) and holy moly was it a world of difference. It feels so much more satisfying.
