From what the tuners say there isn't a huge difference in power between the catted and catless. If that is true I doubt there will be a huge market for the catless pipes. They were already significantly cheaper that a catted pipe anyway.
I work as an advisor in a busy multi make repair shop. I have personally seen the CRC and Seafoam chemicals work to clear up missfires on direct injection vehicles with caked up intake valves. The key is to do it often as a preventative maintenance and not wait until the valves/intake gets too...
Direct injection engine benefit heavily from induction services. If you have a catch can installed you would need to do it less often. I'm going to knock my service out around 25k mileage. If you are a do it yourself kind of guy you can buy seafoam for GDI engines from a parts store and...
I think any 200tw tire is overkill for daily driving. You sacrifice a lot of tread life for minimal improvement in traction when not at the limit of handling. I'm sure the Advans will last at least 30% less than the Michelins.
Thanks for posting this. With all the back and forth on catch cans for these cars, I'm glad to see you catching junk in your can. I'm also glad ordering my PCV can was not a waste of money.
I am running the Advan Apex year round. To be fair I live in Houston, TX. The coldest weather we might see is just below freezing maybe for a day or so. Wet traction is acceptable for a 280tw performance tire. I'm sure the Michelin PS4 wet traction would be a little better, but they were not...
I'm running 265/35r18 Yokohama Advan Apex tires. I have the same size wheels and like the width of the 265 tire. The Advan Apex is not a very long lasting tire though. I've been pleased with traction and handling, but I'll probably get a little over 16k miles on them. They were more...
Gratz on the new car. Plenty of people paid way more than $2.5k over list but are too proud to say they got poked harder than you. I like the battery tie down, did you make that or purchase?
I've worked in the tire business for 20+ yrs. I have a professional opinion on this topic...Replace the tire. Even if it isn't leaking the rigidity of the tread blocks are compromised. Tire manufactures void all speed ratings on tires once they have been patched. All manufacturers void any...
That color combo of car and wheel is straight FIRE! I have a SGP too and those wheels are light years ahead of my set up in style and uniqueness. Good choice.
