This happened the first time I filled up, but realized the nozzle wasn’t all the way in. Just make sure you insert it all the way in and then press downward so it locks it in.
I just picked up my 2020 Type R a couple of weeks ago and haven't had any issues with A/C (yet). It does seem weaker in comparison to my previous vehicles (BMW, Audi, Subaru)

I think the mindset is more so around using the car for longer with some sort of peace of mind (warranty), rather than rolling the dice early.
