My compressor is up for replacement tomorrow.
It'd be nice if an aftermarket company would make a full upgrade set (Compressor, condenser, evaporator) - If I could sink £1-2000 and just refit the lot and have some confidence in it, I would.
I've got an Alfa 159 from 2010, 140,000 Miles - AC...
Saw a post on one of the FB Groups a while back, someone is putting a kit together for a front-upper mount aux. radiator - Can't remember the details though :(
For rear door handles, As nice as it would be I think the time invested in investigation and wiring would be mindboggling.
For auto windows, The EU Car has full auto windows / switches all the way around, so you should be able to do that with a few swaps - Possibly just the switches themselves...
On the proviso the pads look alright (I.e. have material), it's a feature.
You can usually improve things by doing some brake snubs from whatever lofty speeds you can obtain and getting the brakes nicely warm.
Engine & Transmission oil radiators - Easy!
Get jazzy, grab some motorcycle radiators with fan shrouds inbuilt and wire them in with the primary relay?
I'm 100% With you.
I really wish more aftermarket companies would focus on auxilary coolant radiators - The faux vents are there for the taking - Look at any AMG, VW R, M Car, RS Car, Jaguar, Porsche - They've got auxilary cheek radiators.
Much easier to run hoses, less involved / "risky"...
Sure it's not the heatshield under the car or something?
Also can be worth checking the boot cover that attaches to the hatch; I found mine a bit loose so I put some foam tape on the clips where they slide in.
Definitely start mechanical given that's what you've changed.
Charge pipe couplings, Throttle body coupler etc. - Check clamps are tight, and if you can get hold of a tester, run a pressure test - Fatherpain's thread has some good instructions on this.
I grabbed one a while back and it proved...
I'll be popping to the US soon, and have had a thought - It's troublesome to get hold of the 2021 ADS Modules in the UK, does anyone know of a helpful dealer in the Las Vegas / Nevada area who may be able to order one in and hold it for collection?
Late to the party, but predominantly to echo the above.
The standard components were fine, but be careful of their maintenance:- Water ingress to the ignition coil tubes can drown the coils and plugs, so check them frequently for corrosion.
I had to replace mine due to this, and it doesn't...
Cheers! - Thanks for the offer, I'll have a look at grabbing one next time I'm out.
Idle is fine without AC, but gets a bit clattery and agricultural once the AC Clutch engages - Smooths quickly with just the tiniest smidge of throttle.
I have got the standard PRL HVI AFM Calibration, but I...
Has anyone else played with their idle RPM Settings to find a "smoother" idle, especially with motor mounts & AC Running.
I've bumped it up to ~850 in the past for slightly less vibration, wondered if anyone else had tested any values they found to have good effect?
Close but no cigar - I installed a turbo blanket, In doing so removed the upper heatshield (Over turbo and downpipe top, around Lambda sensor) and trimmed it down to show the Turbo blanket off without compromising downpipe coverage too much.
Alongside that, I had the heatshield zircotec coated...
There was a 1L in the UK that had a full FK8 bodykit, Same principles apply as the 1.5 if you can find any info on those.
You'd need to do the wings, sideskirts, rear arch flares, rear bumper, and modify the bonnet to match the catch location on the standard car.
Given the mileage and original pads, Carefully check your pads for wear - You can see them through the spokes; Usually the rears are first to go due to VSA intervention / thinner material to start with; Once they're gone the wear squealers should do exactly what you're describing.
If you have...
Might be worth trying the inbuilt voice command functionality (Quick press of the voice button) to see if it's definitely the inbuilt microphone or a software bug.
It's located in the roof console if memory serves, so you could pop that off and have an inspect.
Ah! - It'll probably be the Cup2s. They're a very stiff compound and even in warmer weather may not be fully pliable / soft until they have been driven on for a fair while.

They do all do that sir :P
