If you DIY your brake pads you most likely already have an Autel AP200 OBD2 in order to put your rear brakes in service mode, that same device can show you the CVT temp. I have seen that mine operates around 90°C during my commute, I have not tracked mine yet so don't know how hot it could get.
Thanks for your reply and the explanation, I know the CVT is the weakest link in this cars because kind people in this forum have warned us about it. The reason I asked is because I have seen people mentioning that launch control can damage your CAT for example, so I was wondering if there's...
So you mean people who genuinely wish to educate themselves are amusing to see? This is my first car mate, I don't know "obvious things" you might have decades knowing.
So if I had a 6MT with better clutch it would be fine? It probably isn't, but what goes wrong after it?
Since we are talking launch control, I know it's bad but I don't know why. What goes wrong when someone tunes for launch control in one of our Civics besides a broken CVT?
The 10th gen Civic doesnt have TPMS sensors, it uses the ABS to calculate wheel rotation. If one wheel spins more than the other then its deflated thus the TPMS light comes on.
It helps divide the space in your center console, you will see a slot were it fits into between the large bottle area and the rest of the space

I will keep an eye to buy a temp gauge for my CVT because even if a single track day may not blow your transmission, if I dont keep in check my transmission temp it be have very bad in the long run? or am I being too cautious about it?
Also, isn't a slow car (not a Si or CTR) the best car to...
Its my first car and I have not taken it to the track yet but I think it would be normal for shocks, bushings, end links, tyres, etc. to take a beating and need replacement well before its normally expected. More importantly Engine and transmission oil will be required.
As savagegeese said in...
Is that even possible without a Ktuner unit? I would love to hit the track and put some lap times even stock on my local track but I refuse to even try without knowing how hot my transmission runs normally as a reference point. As far as I know my OBD2 adapter is not reporting that sensor or its...
The problem is that at least Android Auto requires Wi-Fi 5, our car doesn't have that to my knowledge, don't really know what are the requirements for Carplay so it might be doable if Carplay doesn't require wifi 5
Also, there are already wireless Carplay dongles (not android auto) so it should...
Do you have the factory Android Headunit? If so you can try disabling the factory equalization and set it to "DSP Flat" then with Viper4Android set your own equalization. IMO that makes quite a difference and it's not expensive.
Your budget is on the lower side, just my amp was $145, the a set...
The place I bought the amp and speakers from offers free install on every purchase so I had them
The place I bought the amp and speakers from offers free install on every purchase so I had them install them and wire them to the factory touch screen HU.
Since my car was repaired it didn't have...
So I have the touchscreen, you can install an equalizer app called Viper4android and that improved the quality quite a bit (adding that you can tune the sound to your own preferences) but I got to the limit of the speakers so I changed them for components so that I could change both main speaker...
Someone may correct me if I'm wrong but the LX seems better for an aftermarket headunit because you don't have every feature integrated with the factory HU. People like me with the EX or higher including the Si and Type R are stuck with the factory HU until we can adjust TPMS, proximity key...
To be honest, the car didn't feel that much different. I did feel the vibrations that are no longer an issue after this but when I got those bolts they didnt make a difference in handling really, as stable as always, it never felt out of place. Kinda worrying in the sense that something could be...
Just came back home from the shop.
A bit of my experience, since I got the car in March I´ve been in 2 fatal potholes, the first one(front left) made a bulge and the second one actually cut into the tyre (front right). After a while I noticed the car pulling very slightly to the left, myself...
I've had the same problem since a couple of moths ago, I got it aligned and the problem is still there, I will try getting it balanced today and see if the tech can verify if my wheels are bent (I've hit big potholes back then and recently too)
I have an EX so remote start, auto lock, auto headlighrs and maintenance minder (and other that dont come to my mind right now) are baked in the HU, are those features supported by those Android HU? Which one did you get?
