  1. Clutch issues

That noise is the pushrod coming off the slave cylinder where it presses on the release fork. Honda didn't put a dust boot on this car covering the assembly and it gets dirty. Just dealt with this last spring, 20 min job. Honda urea grease if you can find it or lucas xtra heavy duty green...
  2. California SoCal - OEM FK8 Wheels/Tires

Not sure these will fit the 5x114 bolt pattern on a sport touring. FK8 is 5x120.
  3. New York FL5 Wheels 19x9.5

Going to be there as well. GLWS
  4. Brake Fluid + Brake Pad Change - Order Important?

Those with tapered rear pad wear, get Austin's bushings. They will help bigtime with that issue. https://www.wunderladenracing.com/products/civic-x-bronze-rear-caliper-bushings
  5. Whats your highest mileage on Type r?

Just crossed 60k. Valve cover gasket was an issue in the first 20k. Drivers door lock actuator is dying and my hvac blend door hunts around a bit randomly with some clicking sounds. I'll be replacing both this summer. Pretty much it other than maintenance items.
  6. Brake Fluid + Brake Pad Change - Order Important?

The car is not difficult to put on stands, I do it 3-4 times a year. Put the e-brake on and do it this way, it will not move. Two-jack method. Jack the pass front side, then put my long reach low profile 3ton to the front jack point, raise it and jackstand the fronts while removing the first...
  7. Brake Fluid + Brake Pad Change - Order Important?

They 100% remove the slop in the rear caliper on its slides thus preventing uneven pad wear. Stupid easy install as long as you know your way around the EPB. Might not have to replace the rear pads while doing it, but I would as it's already apart.
  8. Brake Fluid + Brake Pad Change - Order Important?

Little plug here, get Austin's rear caliper bushings he sells - great inexpensive & easy to install upgrade for the rears. Between those, new pads and I flushed and bled the system with Bosch ESI-6, holy crap the pedal feel is wonderful.
  9. Two days ago I bought a 18’ CTR cleantitle with 103k miles, drives like new, no issues at all. Any advice? Anything I Need to know about FK8 Type R’s

Just passed 60k on my 2019 coming back from Indianapolis Motor Speedway last week. No issues other than the valve cover leak so far but I also "over-maintain" it. I also have a 7yr/125k on it. AC will blow up at some point and that repair will have paid for the VSA.
  10. List of performance shops you trust with your FK8?

LHT Performance in Florida. Graham Rahal Peformance outside of Indy. They're the only ones I'd let put a wrench on my car.
  11. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

Have no issues with the FL5 other than the markup. I was in one of the 3 HPD prepped FL5 pace cars at the St. Pete Indycar race and it does ride stiffer but the seat of the pants feel was on point with my 2019. It does like to rotate a little easier. The fake engine noise is F awful. No issues...
  12. What did you do to your Type R today?

Imagine owning that car. Horrible. Would’ve given a few beeps rolling past them.
  13. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

For me, no markup is ok. I had 2 worksheets for under sticker on my 2019 and have the paperwork to prove it. Deals were out there then, zero chance of it now. I would love to be a salesman working at a dealer selling an FL5. I don't think I could keep a straight face during signing. haha
  14. What oil filter are you using? Do they really matter?

A $30 oil filter. That’s rich HKS. RP is the top of my limit for these. I change at 4-5000 mile OCI max. Any filter from champion labs (who makes Hondas A02) will do.
  15. What did you do to your Type R today?

Ordered the Acuity centering spring and rocker for a 2020+ shifter I’ve had sitting around for a year. Also picked up the Hybrid Racing base & new design cable bushings. Installing all that and the Mugen start button before I roadtrip it to St. Pete for the IndyCar race.
  16. FK8 Transmission Fluid Recommendation

That's quality MTF as well. Ran it in my EF.
  17. New York FS - Hatchback Car Cover (Outdoor)

Hey folks, I have an outdoor car cover that is just sitting here taking up space. It will not fit my Type-R (it's for the regular hatchback). Taking reasonable offers. It's in like new condition, has been unboxed and put on my car just long enough to realize it won't fit the Type-R's wing...
  18. FK8 Transmission Fluid Recommendation

AMSOIL is a pain in the ass for me to get my hands on, dealing with local AMSOIL resellers (think AMWAY, Avon, etc...) and while I'm sure it has merit, it's just not worth the annoying hassle and price premium. I used to have a membership/preferred status thing with them when I had my EP3...
