  1. Si Tuning a higher km SI

Adding on to what he said, You will also have to think about clutch replacement down the road. With 160,000 km on the original clutch (which is great), set aside some funds for a clutch that can handle the better power. If you go FBO and do the TSP Stage 1, you could find your clutch to slip...
  2. Ontario Drivers with mods - Whats your experience with insurance?

more than likely. I’m surprised they didn’t up my premiums because my car is black. Harder to see at night you know? So I’d be high risk.:doh:
  3. Ontario Drivers with mods - Whats your experience with insurance?

Their rationale is that exhaust and intake = Performance mod, which would increase the risk of a collision because of high risk driving behaviour. In other words, they associate mods with high risk drivers. How it got brought up, was because they asked me if my truck had mods while I was...
  4. Ontario Drivers with mods - Whats your experience with insurance?

That’s definitely the route I want to take because I like my car a lot. I really don’t want to have to go back to stock. I’ve never been in an accident and I’m planning on staying that way lol. I was figuring that insurance companies would be jacking rates up ridiculously high if I kept the...
  5. Ontario Drivers with mods - Whats your experience with insurance?

Hey guys, looking for some advice here regarding insurance. A lot of us here modify our cars and enjoy doing it very much, myself included. However, I’ve come to the realization that my insurance company does not allow performance mods, which includes intakes, exhaust, tuners etc.. I’m posting...
  6. gtman decides to sell his Civic X

This issue was resolved with the newer Theta motors, i believe 2015 and onwards. And the engines that are affected are covered for lifetime, or 10-15 years if i remember correctly if they received the recall. Any company has safety recalls. Honda has a couple out for the civic and they have in...
  7. Brand New Honda Civic 2.0L burning 1 quart of oil per 1,000 miles ????

I've never heard of 1 quart every 1000 miles being normal for oil burning/consumption on an average sports car, let alone a base civic. You need to find another dealer because something is definitely up if you're burning oil on such a new car, especially the bulletproof 2.0 NA motor, and as...
  8. Parting out some stuff from my Civic Si Sedan

Bump. HFP wheels sold with deposit. Rest of stuff is still available. Tail lights are removed off car and ready for sale now!
  9. Parting out some stuff from my Civic Si Sedan

Sorry, I’d like to sell them as a set. I’m a bit flexible on pricing if that helps any.
  10. Windows cracked with my buddy inside.

Honestly I think it’s just a me thing, because all my Hondas have done it. Some days my remote wants to cooperate. Other days it wants to be a jackass. Love/hate relationship with this smart key crap  I bought red silicone covers, which helped a lot with the accidental presses.
  11. Windows cracked with my buddy inside.

Yet it’s the most annoying feature. When I don’t want it to do it, it’ll do it sometimes in my pocket or my bag without intentionally doing it. I’ll come outside to find my windows down/sunroof open. Always happens too when it’s raining or snowing. But when I want to do it to get the hot air...
  12. Rev match steps safe?

5th is considered an overdrive gear in our 6MTs, along with 6th. So it’s a fuel saving gear. Applying a lot of throttle in 5th or 6th to pass someone isn’t healthy for the transmission and clutch, because you’re putting a lot more stress on the drivetrain than if you were to downshift to 3rd or...
  13. Rev match steps safe?

It’s something that takes practice, rather than partaking in steps, over time it becomes a series of independent moves, if that makes any sense whatsoever. If I had to put it in steps, I do this: 1) Clutch in all the way 2) Downshift to desired gear 3) Blip the throttle to desired rev range...
  14. Need help deciding tire size

245/45 would throw your speedo off too much and make your car look odd IMO. Go with 245/40.
  15. 2step and anti lag

Newbie and “Anti Lag” or “two step” should never go in the same sentence unless it’s “Newbies should never use two step or Anti Lag until they get experience under their belt”. Even then, not a good idea on this engine. Many have blown their engines unnecessarily by experimenting. A quick...
  16. Notice: Buying and selling from other site members

Didn’t know they were hacking long standing accounts, that’s good to know. I guess then the other bit of advice would be to make sure you don’t have an easy password people! Be smart.
  17. Notice: Buying and selling from other site members

@360glitch has there been any progress towards possibly setting a minimum post contribution and/or time spent on the forums before new members can PM and sell stuff on the site? I know at the end of the day it’s up to people to be smart and vigilant, but I feel like 90% of these scammers would...
  18. 22psi Stock???

You can run it since that’s the minimum octane required on stock tune, but around here on this forum, it’s not common. I know both times when I purchased my Si’s, they put 87 in, since that’s the minimum requirement. Before my tune, I ran 91, mostly because it felt better. I still do even though...
  19. Energy Green Si, am I the only one?

My one Honda dealer sat on a used EGP for a long time, but when I was ready to buy it had sold a week prior. I was so upset lol. That and the yellow one are my favourites. If they had made one in boost blue or even a bright orange, I would have done it. I’m a big fan of those bright colours.
  20. R.I.P. 2017 civic si

Eh, it’ll buff out. Joking aside, glad you’re okay. That looks like a brutal hit. Are you keeping the car and using the engine/trans for the swap? Just asking because I don’t know how it would work with insurance
