General rule is that if the downpipe in question mates up to the factory exhaust it will mate up to AWE with no modifications.
Sounds like the joints may be slipped out too much. During install each joint should be fully bottomed out to ensure a proper fit.

Nothing changed on our end as far as the Touring Edition sizing/layout.
I would have to agree with your assessment of the Track Edition as well, it is not for the faint of heart, but conversion kits are a simple way to switch between editions 👍
