  1. Civic Type R FK8 Lithium Battery Upgrade

Yes, these are safe. It’s not a cheap knock-off Chinese Li battery that you’ll find on an e-scooter. I’ve worked in Virginia through Texas with it, across all climates, and NEVER had an issue with it. The output is metered precisely to meet any of the voltage and amperage requirements for the car.
  2. Civic Type R FK8 Lithium Battery Upgrade

It sounds like you have a defective battery at that mileage. Call the seller, Antigravity, and they can issue you a refund or replace your bad battery. I had ZERO issues with mine.
  3. Car Wash Warning!!!

Then call everyone you quoted a liar and move on lol
  4. Car Wash Warning!!!

You are making the assumption that everyone is experiencing the same conditions as you, and therefore there should be no issue. As for “views,” again, most people have experienced damage vice trolling and fabricating stories. I am glad you have had no issues after 1000+ washes - good for you 🍪

  7. DIY OIL Change Reference Civic Type R

If you are looking for a robust magnetic plug, try the one from Dimple. It is the real deal. I posted about it a few years (2?) ago in here. I ordered the one from Mishimoto, but frankly, I thought it was just a play on words because the strength was just not there.
  8. Oil change and transmission fluid change

I’ve been working overseas due to job requirements since COVID-19 hit the US. Obviously, my car is in storage in the states, but when I return, I might be shopping for a 2022 CTR :D. Hope all is well?
  9. CTR Rev Matching and Emissions Issues w/Check Engine light.

There is no need to take the vehicle to the dealer. This error code is temporary and will self-correct after about 2 hours of routine driving. This code is an inconvenience, but it is only temporary. The dealer can clear it immediately, but if you do not have time to take the car to the dealer...
  10. Bad Type R buying experience...

Copy and paste your post into a letter, and hand deliver it to the General Sales Manager.
  11. What did you do to your Type R today?

For the gearbox, I used a magnetic drain plug from Dimple. I think the gearbox has a magnetic plate already, but I could not verify it, so I got this plug. It’s very strong, so be careful handling it. Here is my post on that...
  12. CTR Rev Matching and Emissions Issues w/Check Engine light.

As a trial to observe the the persistence and code fault, I discovered one event involving the MAF sensor if it is disconnected accidentally, then reconnected, followed by starting putting the vehicle in ACC or ON: Event: The vehicle will fault with these two errors: Rev Match and Emissions...
  13. OEM Oil Filter Gasket - Observation

I made an interesting observation today that may lead to explaining why some members had some minor oil seepage originating from their OEM Honda Filter (15400-PLM-A02). Observation: Upon examining the upper, filter gasket of the OEM filter, I noticed that the gasket did not fully occupy the...
  14. How do you listen to music?

Order of use: 1. Bluetooth - 9/10 times (daily), using YouTube Music or Spotify; I like the ease of entering the car and having the car’s audio system automatically connect to the phone 2. Apple CarPlay - only when traveling to an unfamiliar place and need to see Waze on the navigation screen...
  15. Is my alignment off or is there some other issue?

Thanks for the correction - the caster appeared fixed, but the service manual information on the assembly made a relationship between the angle on the mounting base and the damper. This made me re-think that maybe there was some very limited adjustment possible.
  16. Swapping Out Wheels Using One Jack - Possible or Risky?

The Continental SportContact 6 245/30ZR20 OEM tire is not directional. However, the tire does have indicators on the sidewall showing Outside and Inside. Therefore a front to back, or criss-cross wheel rotation on a Type R with this tire works, because either method results in the Outside...
  17. Is my alignment off or is there some other issue?

The alignment pin on the strut mount allows for a (+/-) 5° adjustment, as shown in the service manual. Reference (E) is the body of the strut. Note the inverse of the angle made between angle (A) and the angle made with the strut body. Your technician should be able to make the proper...
  18. Stripped strut mount

The following is the diagram of the rear damper configuration on a 10th Gen Civic. The rear damper mounting base is held with two flange bolts (8mm x 32mm). The mounting base is not threaded. The threads are on the body of the vehicle.
  19. Clutch burned after 300 miles

Wow - this is a first time that I have heard of such a failure. This would appear to be a manufacturer’s defect, and not operator error. Did the vehicle demonstrate any signs of improper operation prior to the noticeable failure? I can’t imagine the vehicle functioning properly with such a...
  20. Scored Rotors?

This post shows where these small pieces of gravel get trapped between the rotor and rotor shield: https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/rock-stone-in-the-brakes-video.46067/#post-756339 This has happened to me twice that required me removing the wheel to dislodge the small stone. I used the...
