Wowā¦ what exclusive klan did you borrow that rhetoric from?
This is a mudslinging thread with a few helpful bits and a bunch of butthurt.
You have ALSO won the Internet. Congratulations. Iāll retire from this post. When I finish my other projects, maybe Iāll get to working the current daily...
Not even close to what I was thinking, but agreed with your statement about a perfect world. Remember Iām playing Devilās advocate- you were warned. As far as imaginary exclusivity for the C1- yes, critical bits are only on the C1, but there are apparently a bunch of shared internals...
I donāt know where the advantage of using the intake side C2 head would be- especially for forced induction, but thatās a straw manā¦
I guess Iām curious: if the bore and stroke are the same (they are), why not use the C2 Pistons with the C1 rods? The crank is also the same.
This is totally a...
Taco- youāre listing the parts for a daily. The engine/transmission/harness are all I would really be after, if at all. Iām enjoying this little variant for what it is, according to its strengths. Iām optimistic, and thatās essentially where we differ.
Regardless-a swap is a monumental...
Thatās exactly what Iāve done for now, and Iām considering exhaust options. Hang in there- when this platform ages, more products and options will be available. I believe this is the last Honda NA vtec, so Iām cherishing it while I can. It IS still a K20, after all.
I will tell you this: that cvt isnāt something Iād want, but Iād hang in there. A manual swap seems pretty extreme, and Iām hoping the c2 gets a little more attention in the next few years from the aftermarket, since Honda is still using it pretty extensively. Iām not going near an L15 anytime...
Thatās EXACTLY what my intent is, I think the OP kind of has that spirit. I want a sneaky monster. There are no more coupes, and certainly few with a type r power train.
Again- why I am waiting patiently for some kid to wreck their CTR- I want the ECU also, because Iāll need it. š The only...
Donāt want to burst your bubble, but Iām pretty sure Acuity has done it. They sponsor a coupe that is running a K20c1- pretty sure itās got a CTR transmission.
I plan on doing the same to my sport coupe in about five years. Good luck!
Ok Iām not very reactionary, but this sounds like a sneaky possibilityā¦ especially if itās behind the timing cover. Iām GUESSING that cylinder 1 on the L15 is the one I refer to in my photo attached. Iām marking the voids that would be likely to be more hidden by said coverā¦
Hmmmā¦ good...
Did this last Monday, out of necessityā¦ I was backing down the driveway when I heard (felt) a āpopāā¦ spent the next 20 minutes on my back, cursing.
Installed the 20mm RSB and adjustable end links 24SEP21. I am not going to name the manufacturer, as the part performed satisfactorily until it...
Just a few from recently: I am kind of amused at the physical size difference between our Gen 10 and our 08 Si twins. Be easy- just got the coupe a few weeks ago and it IS Honda paint. Itāll match the sedan soon.
Harrisburg to Bostonā¦. This is the first tank, at fill up in Connecticut. I make it on a tank and a half without fail. This is from 13MAY22.
I run exclusively Sunoco 91 or Sheetz 93, donāt even know what the āECONā button does, and am running a K+N CAI on a Ktuner base map. This is a K20C2...
Well at worst youāll get experience with a cool, expensive tool. Donāt know that youāll find the problem. Letās hash this out againā¦
First: Maybe most importantly, your engine isnāt āblownā at this point, at least not what you described.
Your initial post mentioned a sudden loss of power, and...
The thread in the link in your first reply (dthanb), in the first pages describes something involving head distortion, head gasket issues, and general head issues. If youāre not losing coolant, I wouldnāt eliminate this, but Iād eliminate other possibilities before I revisit. Lack of white...
āHeadā???

Ok, youāve isolated the issue OP. Iād guess something to do with the compression of cylinder 1. Which can be a lot of things. Work down the list of culprits based on what the engine did at the onset of the issue.
Bump to avoid starting new threadā¦
What happened to this project? Anything available yet? Iāve found some options on the market, but not a bunch. Iām very interested in a CRX style finish to the rear of the coupe. Anybody else with a coupe find/make a duckbill?
I use exclusively 91 octane also, have a 12 gallon tank, and the same NA k20 the ex has. I get 373 almost every fill up. Been running a K+N CAI over 20K miles, average 26-28 mpg when driving locally, not a tiny bit aggressively, actually aggressively. This is a manual.
Moral of the story: you...
