Now to just be able to turn of the BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP you get when closing the door on a car that is running, it would make winters much less annoying.
I agree with this. I miss my 235i every day. Make no mistake the Si would run rings around it on a shorter circuit, but the Si just doesn't provide the IT factor to me.
The Si is what I call an aggressively competent car, there is very little that it does wrong, most everything it does right...
I don't think the Si has a stiff ride at all ?
My wife prefers the Si to my old 235 because the clutch pedal is lighter, with a shorter throw and both the ride height and seat height are higher.
In NJ you will be fine.
The Goodyears in WNY were tragic in the snow in my opinion. I had just traded a car with snow tires on it though which does provide a big contrast. Will need to start shopping for cheapo 17" wheels soon to mount the snows back on.
Having gone from M235i to Si, the power is okay. You have enough that you can overtake on the highway easily, merge easily etc. It's not going to be enough power where at close to red line you are feeling like you are going fast however. The 235 pulls from 1800rpm to 7000rpm, the turbo starts to...
Nothing at all, I just make sure it's locked and the windows are shut. Additional security measures on modern cars have always seemed like more trouble than it is worth. My insurance is up to date and if it gets stolen then I will just end up replacing it. If it was old, rare or both my response...
Years ago I owned a MKV GTI and did multiple track days with it so I know that FWD cars can still be a lot of fun. The Si easily out handles the M235i due to having half the engine up front and weighing 600lb less, it just doesn't tick the emotional buttons like the BMW did. I'll still keep it...
I just use the same think I use to wash the car with, the same as I have done with every car I have owned. Right now I am using Chemical Guys citrus wash. I did buy a soft bristled brush a couple of years back to clean the wheels so I didn't cross contaminate anything with brake dust. Plus it...
I traded out of an M235i to lower my monthly payment and to get a lease that I can hand back at end of term as I will be moving internationally.
I cross shopped to an Accord 2.0T 6MT but the one they had on the lot had 70 miles on it, and I got the distinct impression that they had used it as...
Get full snow tyres. I ran a set of Conti's on my previous car (M235i) and never got stuck once. Someone bought the wheels from them so now I'm just vaguely looking for a cheapo set of 17" wheels to mount them on for this year.
I had PSS as my summer tyre and they did quite well in the cold...
