  1. How much sound deadening is in the ‘21 FK8? Is it worth it to add more alongside a completely upgraded sound system?

Is it worth it to add more alongside a completely upgraded sound system? YES! It complements the upgraded sound system by protecting it from loud road noise pollution into the interior cabin, stops plastic and metal rattling, and prevents hallow echochamber doors/door panels reverbing. You want...
  2. How much sound deadening is in the ‘21 FK8? Is it worth it to add more alongside a completely upgraded sound system?

The Type R is a sports car, not a luxury car so it lacks sound deadening treatment out of the factory. The sound deadening from the factory on the Type R and regular Hatchbacks, Sedans, and Coupes are the same. There is very little to no sound deadening from the factory for the sports car and...

  5. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Fixed the Subwoofer Rattling noise! Thank you to SoundSkins for making the best Sound Deadening products! I highly recommend them!
  6. CVT vs FK8

The CVT is the better daily. The Type R is the better weekend car, project car, track car. You can mod both cars but the Type R would be more expensive to mod. Both cars are fun but it looks like you said you need to learn manual. Might not be a good idea to learn manual on the FK8. Might be...
  7. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Added more Sound Deadening Materials using SoundSkins.

  9. Upgraded the door speakers

Having a speaker baffle with an adequate rear opening along with sound deadening the doors can also improve overall sound quality and bass response. I think I use boom matt speaker baffles for the 6.5 inch speakers with a half circle cut on the rear along with SoundSkins sound deadening treatment.
  10. Upgraded the door speakers

You need something like the AudioControl LC2i Pro and a subwoofer. The LC2i has a feature to prevent bass roll off, while the subwoofer can take care of the really deep low notes.
  11. Upgraded the door speakers

The bass is likely underwhelming due to the headunit having bass roll off feature which is meant to protect the stock factory thin paper speakers.
  12. Mugen Rear Underspoiler

Looks like you live in California. If you happen to live in the Bay Area, you could check out Bayson R Motorsports. They have both the parts, the Type R Style rear diffuser for the FK7 and a Mugen Replica part you are looking for but for the FK8. They should be able to tell you if it fits or not...
  13. 17 Civic Lit up Like a Christmas Tree lol

You should have driven normally for 15 minutes at least the first time just right after they resetted it. If you didn't, that might be the reason for odd behavior when hitting it at 70? Idk 🤷‍♂️. Your tune is probably still there, it is just the data cycle on driving behavior is resetted but...
  14. Mugen Rear Underspoiler

I have not seen any genuine brand or cheap aftermarket part that has a piece like that to fit on the FK7. Doing this would be a first time custom fabrication job and it might not end up looking good. There are replicas for sure but they are meant for the original or replica of the Type R...
  15. 17 Civic Lit up Like a Christmas Tree lol

If they hard reset everything, you are supposed to drive like a normal person stopping and going normally like normal traffic and following speed limits. The ECU is relearning after being resetted or after it got a tune again. After doing this for more than 15 minutes, you can drive the way you...
  16. HKS coilovers installed

A little bit more stiff? I thought it was a little bit more soft lol. Maybe I had false memories of the switch. Anyways congratz on installing your new coilovers! Great to see you are enjoying the new improvements! I see you are in SoCal? I am temporarily visiting this weekend. Are you in the OC...
  17. Got my HKS coilovers today, can’t wait to install them them tomorrow!

There is only Spoon for the FK7. I haven't found any other manufacturer that makes one specifically for the FK7.
  18. Got my HKS coilovers today, can’t wait to install them them tomorrow!

Follow the HKS instruction manual. Otherwise, I don't know. I had an aftermarket car shop help with the install instead. For the zero-bump steer kit, you want the full Spoon kit the bump steer ball joint thing along with the tie rod kit. Spoon kit is meant for the Spoon Springs drop which is...
  19. Got my HKS coilovers today, can’t wait to install them them tomorrow!

Nice! I have the same ones. Been running them out of the box the way it is with the preload and height. Better than stock suspension and a bit more comfortable out of the box. By default, the drop height is about 1.5 inch overall. That is the lowest I'd personally go. Naturally, when you lower a...
  20. Condensation Diode Dynamics Fogs owners

I'd be alright with 3 years but having two pairs fail in less than a year sucks. Such a hassle to deal with so I reverted back to halogen bulbs for the main brakelights on the taillight. All the other LEDs work fine and still going strong past 1 year already and it isn't from Diode Dynamics for...
