Yeah, it's so much nicer to have a single mass, but even with it being 17 lbs now and rev hang deleted it's still not very fast to drop revs like older cars I've driven.
That does make sense. It seems like if you're experienced and drive manuals properly then the delay valve isn't necessary.
Since I've replaced the CMC with a modified unit already, and tried adjusting the pedals, that's the last thing that could be causing my problems i guess.
Hey everyone,
I recently made a post about some issues with my Si after getting the clutch done. I ended up having the shop pull the trans and replace the throw out bearing and replaced the passenger side engine mount. These two things both fixed the clunky clutch feeling and the noise coming...
I had this installed with my exedy fk8 stage 1 clutch and rv6 modified flywheel. I can't shift into gear around redline. Any thoughts as to why this is happening with the upgrade?
Thanks for the insight! I'll talk another look today then. Hopefully it's a loose rear MM and not that but I'll ask the shop if they took it off. It seems like the sound comes from the middle or right side, but I'm not sure if that's just artifact since I'm on the left in the car.
I wondered that too, I'll have to check for those again. I know the rear motor mount looked ok, but I'll have to check the others. This didn't happen before the clutch was done so I want sure what to think about it all.
And what do you mean by drivetrain clunk?
I appreciate the insight, but it seems just too weird to be just more vibration/nvh. It's a prominent couple of clicks that speed up with engine and wheel speed. Is that something that would happen with a bad CMC or throw out bearing?
The clutch itself is essentially a stock type R clutch by...
Hey ya'll,
So this isn't a question about why the engagement feels different from stock or anything, but rather my clutch pedal now has much different vibrations and other sensations that i've never felt in other aftermarket clutches.
So I recently had a shop install an rv6 modified flywheel...
Someone mentioned they didn't do the CMC upgrade, but I ordered the kzcmc so I don't have to worry about high rpm lockout which some people report with stiffer clutches. I don't have a definite answer though
Nice man, congrats! And mine is tuned so I'll try to report back if it makes a difference. It definitely made a difference with the tuner so we'll see how it changes.
How is the rev hang and throttle blip compared to the dual mass? Is it a big difference? I hate how slow it revs and drops so I'm hoping it's a little more race car ish lol
Thanks man, I actually found a reputable shop to do it for a reasonable price and they've done them before. So they're more likely to do it properly than myself haha thanks for the heads up and I actually just got the clutch and the flywheel in the mail yesterday so I'm stoked to try it myself...
Yeah I thought about that, but for 100 bucks I figured it would be future proofed at least. If I decided to turbo upgrade down the road I wouldn't be worrying about the clutch again. Though you're right that I probably won't make close to that power anyways for a long time.
