Sounds like you went through exactly the same thought process I did. If I had my choice, I'd have gone for a Hatch Si. Since that doesn't exist, the Sport Touring was what I ended up with - a little extra horse power over the regular Civic, and (I believe) a different, slightly sportier...
haha - yeah. I was actually just thinking about that last night. I double checked this morning, and the hanger has a little hook that should keep it on there - in the absence of a big earthquake (which would pose all sorts of other problems!).
I had to - it's one of the best I've ever driven. And, because this is intended to be my last new car for quite a while, it may also be may last new manual transmission... ever. So it was important to me to get this car particularly right.
The Si's transmission was a little nicer. Shorter...
Thanks! I love it in red. I really don't get the criticism from some reviewers that the looks are controversial. The 10th generation certainly is unique from the other lozenge shaped pods out on the road. But I hardly see it as bad looking.
In fact, I'm sure that if Alfa Romeo had stuck the...
I went with the Sport Touring (6-speed). I'm happy with that. I was very - very - tempted by the Type-R. But the increased fuel consumption and purchase price turned me away. So far I'm having as much fun in this car as I imagine I would have in the Type R. Fortunately I'll probably never...
I picked up my first new car in a long time - a 2019 Civic Hatchback. Sport Touring with the 6 speed. I'm excited enough about it that I figured I should post a new thread about it.
It's only been about 24 hours, but so far I couldn't be happier with this decision. I debated the Si sedan. I...
I think it's more than questionable - I cross shopped my Civic with the two VW Golf wagons. Given the limited availability of 2019s, I asked when they'd be expecting the 2020s. The answer was never. Apparently they're being entirely discontinued. In fact - it sounds like Canada (and the US)...
I don't think I referred to Toyota being in the minority anywhere. Only that - if they want to build cheap Trucks and SUVs that can compete with domestic offerings, they probably can't be too attached to fuel economy standards.
I agree completely. When I decided on a Civic hatch for this car the fact that I could get a fully loaded Sport-Touring version - with a manual transmission - was an obvious benefit that put it ahead of a lot of competitors. Just the fact that Honda still 'gets' why people would want a car...
Yep. this is a big part of why I went with Honda over a variety of other options - including Toyota, Subaru, Mazda and Hyundai.
Fact is that Honda really knows how to make cars that are both fun to drive - and easier on the environment. When I compared Honda to Toyota - it was an easy choice...
I literally just cross-shopped a few of these cars. My own observations:
1. The Toyota Corolla hatch is ridiculously impractical. There's no room in the back - I'd need to lay down one or both seats to get any kind of haul in there.
2. I used to own a Mazda 3. I loved it. The new one...
I test drove a 2010 and loved it. But that's the last version I drove, and I somewhat unpredictably bought a CR-Z instead. I really did enjoy the drive though. At the time you could have a well appointed version with a 6 speed which was rare in an SUV (now non-existent). To be frank, I wish...
New here - haven't even received my new 2019 6-speed Hatchback. But I love these kinds of threads. I've loved all the cars I've owned, but some, obviously, have been more special than others.
1988 Toyota Corolla SR5 Wagon 5-Speed (red). First car, and I loved it. Still one of my favorites...
Just joined the forum (and just - as in 4 hours ago) purchased a 2019 Civic Hatch Sport Touring (red) with the 6 speed manual. This is the next in a line of Hondas that I've owned - including my first (new) car - a 2008 Civic LX Coupe, an CR-Z, and the white Fit that my wife and I currently...
