@s2kdriver80 your assumptions are correct. Honda always overdoes it with their instructions. If I were to do it again I wouldn’t take the hatch apart or replace the struts. There seems to be no point.

This is a long shot, but do you still have the struts? I misplaced mine and want to include them when I resell my cf wing. Let me know. Thanks!

I have one of these on order. I’ve seen a video where a guy install it in 10 minutes without taking anything apart or replacing the shocks. Doesn’t that seem like overkill for a slight weight difference?

Not really. It’s just an angled plastic piece that screws into the back of the garnish that helps direct the horn sound.
