If you have a 20+ then you should not need that nut, you don’t have to remove anything either since you have the updated boot. I got it off of eBay.
What I meant by opposite was I worked to adapt the original style to the updated 20+ boot, whereas you are getting the new one. Being able to...
If you have a pre 20 shift boot you will have to remove this flange nuthttps://jhpusa.com/products/honda-shift-knob-flange-nut-2017-civic-si-type-r
Since that it also what holds up the shift boot on those model years, you will need a new boot. If you have a 20+ that knob should fit without...
Whoops, I thought the F80 gen had an AWD option. The other two are still available with AWD.
Also, dark horse option: Buy another CTR (or even ITS) and pocket the difference? You'll be able to go new or used if 60k is your budget.
Some AWD choices would be an F80 M3, C43, or 8V RS3. RWD would open up the A90 Supra, F87 M2C, or C7 Z06 but since you said it's a fun daily I'd look at the other three.
Is there an actual difference in the knob design besides the base? The base was changed to better meet the newer style shifted boot as it was changed to match the shorter shifter Honda used in the 20+ models and refined further for the FL5. Same thread pitch so it will fit, but you will want to...
Jordan Distributors. They make a bunch of push to start conversion kits and kill switch security systems.
If you are going to swap Motec might be worth it too. The Accord motors can make good power too, if you put the time and effort into it you can keep the compromises minimal.
Didn't mean to come off as saying you were in the wrong, the more sizing the better. More 10-11" options are definitely welcome. I love my CEs but retiring them for daily stuff to get a dedicated track set, I'd love get a 10" at least for the front and run a 275-285.
I took a bit more of a...
I didn’t mean that no one will mod their fenders, just that the market share of those who actually track their car is small, and of those there’s people like me who would be happy with a slightly less agressive fitment if there is less massaging to be done.
How much camber are you running to...
Going to be hard fitting a 10.5 with a much lower offset without cutting or rolling so that might keeping them away from it. The System Motorsports specs require fender mods at 10.5 +42.
Tuning is probably the better tense, troubleshooting an AFR issue at the moment as its running way too rich at times on the more recent revisions. Once I'm done I can add it, but at this stage I don't feel its appropriate.
I'm running PRL HVI/Intercooler/Charge Pipes, Rampage inlet, 91 octane...
Did you run the OTS Cobb Stage 1 with the stock intake or an aftermarket? First time I've heard that the Cobb map doesn't run, but you should be running it on a mechanically stock car. That might explain why your MAF sensor was acting up on the tune.
For those custom options, they are going to...
This happened back in October last year, 2023. It also helped he noticed not long after the thieves would have taken it so a bit of luck there as well.
Two points to add to this- a friend of mine had his Type R stolen in Queens and he was able to recover it within an hour using an AirTag and he found it and drove it away. He had to take it to Honda to have the keys replaced so that the original stolen signal wouldn't work a second time if the...
Sport and LX have the same K20C2, trim has nothing to do with it.
A few Type R guys who have had this issue have retorqued the covers and the issues went away. Many of the aftermarket valve covers from J's, Spoon etc also recommend a retorque after a few thousand miles. I'd say it's worth a...
Is there any info on how many cars are being stolen with the fob reprogramming method vs the standard signal relay attack? The equipment for the latter is cheaper than a $1000 scanner and fobs, and is the more widely known method. There are also even cheaper methods to hijack inputs into the car...
Hybrid detent springs + bushings (I have the Acuity ones but Hybrid makes their own too) are the best bang for buck shifter IMO, I'd throw them on if you haven't already. The springs made a bigger difference than the bushings, but that might be recency bias.
