Not out line at all. Looking for input and it's only a car. Like many, I don't like the high contrast of the fake vents at all. We've seen a number of attempts at making changes, like swapping for real vents, etc.
I thought painting the "vents" would look worse (and peel), so my attempt...
First road trip with the new WOP. Up to 55.5 mpg on two lane highways at 60-65 mph and average of 46 mpg at freeway speeds. Tinted windows and MGP brake covers.
Painted the fake vent trim and the "bridge" between them to minimize the huge holes in the back of the car and accept smaller ones. I think the outcome is proof of concept. Your thoughts?
Since this thread is for those who struggle with the fake vent black hole look, I'm wondering what you think of painting the black trim to match the factory color like in the Photoshopped image? This is for a hatchback. I saw a four door Si the other day and noticed it didn't have the odd black...
Definitely would go for the pro body shop, factory paint match. With bumper and all parts removed for a better outcome (less likelihood of peeling), it would run $400. Not bad. Thanks!
Yes. Trying to minimize the high contrast look. The part between them descends to the top of the bottom ground effect. So it's not just a straight line, but includes the whole part, as I've included below. I saw a four door Si (not hatch), and noticed it looked cleaner without the black paint...
I am new and here's the first post.
Thinking about painting the trim around the vent and the part that goes between them. Anyone here with photoshop skills up for trying the look? I might spray it with white PlastiDip to help determine whether to paint it.
To those who find the factory...
