I went back through this thread and that information isn’t there from Hondata. I believe Vit mentioned that in the MOTEC post but as this is about tuning the OEM ECU I’d like to know if it’s possible.
I did see the quote about initial mode setting. Thanks.
Interesting journey! Kind of going through the same thing. I'm in lust with the Type R but something tells me I could live with the Accord 2.0 Sport for a long time.
I think they're 18x8.5 +40. First, they don't list 18x9.5 +40 as a size and second that doesn't look like the face for 9"+ width RPF1's. I think the 18x9 +35 might be the best 18" fit/look for the RPF1.
Accord 2.0T Sport Manual looks really amazing in this video. I feel like pics do not do this car justice as it looks completely different in the video.
I don’t doubt it, but when I see 2017 Accord Sports on the road w the bigger wheels I always smile. Accord was my first car in 1990 and the last Honda I had was a V6 6sp Coupe. I can’t wait to see the 10g in person. Some pics look really good and some look really awful.
I've been thinking about this a bit because I'm a fanboi. I really don't think that many of us will fully exploit the limits of either car on the streets. Maybe some of us will autocross or track these cars. For the rest of us, it's really a matter of preference and enjoyment you get while...
Thanks! I was messing with the online calculators and I noticed the same thing but couldn't wrap my head around it. But I realize now that offset is measured from the centerline and not from the outside. So that being the case, really we should not be deviating from the 60 offset?
Exactly this. Watch this part of the Engineering Explained review and you get an idea of why having the right wheel specs will be very important on the Type R. Just going for the lowest offset probably will affect handling more than on a normal car.
EDIT: after confirmation, you should try...
Overall, the reviews all have a positive slant on them. The thing that kind of cracks me up is that the FK2 reviews all kind of said, "it's awesome but so raw and hard to live with". The FK8 reviews are like "FK8 is so awesome you could daily drive, but it's kind lacking that rawness". Must...
I think best alternative would be a used M235i. Great handling car with loads of upgrade potential. Not super practical, but should be a blast to drive.
