i agree 100% with that,
but the key words you use are "reliable" and "safe"
those words should never be used in the same sentence when referring to aftermarket tuners
what do the KTuner people have to say about this guys tranny...
maybe they don't reply because they know what im saying is correct,
do you have any idea or clue how much damage can be done to your valves over a period of time with even the SLIGHTEST incorrect fuel mixture?
i do, because i have seen the evidence of it first hand, i am a very experienced...
i don't trust any aftermarket tuners, but thats just me,
even though your car might run fine with a "tune", i feel you are sacrificing the longevity of the vehicle,
internal damage is being done slowly,
people might say "but my car is running, so it cant be bad for it"
well that's like me...
i don't believe a word they say,
they want to sell you a product, they want your money, that is all, its a marketing ploy and strategy,
if your CVT explodes while using their product, are they going to replace your CVT for you?
and honda won't replace it either, as you are voiding...
i wouldn't trust the CVT with anything above stock HP to be honest,
but most of the items you list won't increase HP much if at all, with the exception of the tune
tire pressure can affect tire life,
how often are you checking this?
i check mine at least once a week, even if your tires dont leak, the pressure can vary as outside temperatures change,
when your front tires are wore faster then the rears, swap the fronts and rears
agree with pretty much everything you said,
shops probably will not re-install the air box/filter to start the car, thats why i do everything myself, shops cut too many corners,
like you said, with the air box removed that gives me access to the entire top of the transmission so i can clean...
takes me less then 5 mins to remove the airbox, i wouldn't really call that a pain in the rear,
i suppose you also think removing the belly pain to access the oil drain plug is "a pain in the rear that shouldn't be necessary??"
removing the air box to me is a lot easier then trying to pour 3+...
so let me get this straight,
you changed your MTF and never bothered to check the level of it when you were done?
how long did you drive it for low on fluid?
its under the airbox on the 2.0L
you need to remove the airbox, but its pretty simple to do, and takes less then 5 mins,
if your not able to remove the air box, you shouldn't be changing the CVT fluid to begin with
