Absolutely... it makes the OE system suck much less LOL. The Alpine speaker rocks hard for the size. The bass comes alive best with quality source obviously, but even plain old FM sounds okay. The sub level remote knob is a big help in tweaking output between different sources.
I am driving the...
Not really... but here goes:
Build up a spacer on OE enclosure with 8" MDF ring(s) to make room for your sub. Test fit as you go along. For the life of me I couldn't find a 1" ring, so I bought a 3/4" ring and made up the rest with 5/16" MDF. I screwed (countersunk) the 3/4" ring to the...
Finally got some time to complete the Alpine sub install. I opted for the open, no grille look. The sub is mounted on ~1" spacer, and pokes out ~1/4" from the side cover. I used the OE grille as template to cut a piece of black carpet and glued that on in its place to cover the holes and build...
Thanks for the idea. My Alpine mono is 8" x 8" and it fits in there just perfectly. I fastened directly through the liner with large washers underside. Good and solid. There is access to all terminals and controls, so unless the amp fails there will be no need to be removing it. The amp takes...
How did you install the speaker on the spacer? Did you align with the holes in the enclosure and mount right through, or did you first mount the spaced to the enclosure and then separately mount the speaker to the ring? Sorry... never had to install a speaker on a spacer before and curious what...
Thanks for the info again. I have front door speakers and the sub signals connected to my Alpine MRV-M500 (500Wrms @ 2 ohms) and also has the remote (handy for tuning). All I need now is a good speaker. If the Alpine works well in this tiny enclosure I will be a happy camper.
Could you tell me where you got the spacers? I drive the Pioneer sub mentioned earlier by the OP with Alpine MRV-M500 mono, and while it sounds way better than factory, I am looking for something more.
LOL... know what you mean... I dread going to the dealer for anything. First thing I did was check under the hood and under the car for missing/busted fasteners. All looks in order.
My worst experience was when, in a moment of weakness, I took the car for a brake fluid bleed. Opened the hood...
I am in a market for a subwoofer enclosure for my 2019 hatchback. I have already upgraded the factory sub with the Pioneer, and have already installed a mono amp to drive it. I have both the sub-out and the speaker-level signals available in the back. It is a big improvement to be sure, but the...
Car is back from the dealer... new condenser in place. They told me that 2016-2018 was covered by the A/C recall, but they have seen 2019s come in with the same issue. Anyway, new and improved part is installed, and it looks like they did a good job putting all the bits back together... what's...
I run Map 3 full time. Why would I want this extra step in my life to drive the car? I use self control to bring the car to temps (sounds familiar?). :p
It's a great tune, but Phearable could make tune order an option at time of purchase. I should poke them again about this.
It's an expensive piece of hardware that just really shouldn't need to be there once the flash is completed. Not a huge deal, but a nice-to-have option.
You won't be disappointed. Wish the order of the tunes were reversed though, so I could flash and unplug. I have no need for multiple tunes. Sent them a note... but crickets.
Ditto here... tried it today for the first time this year, and it is blowing warm air. 2 year old car LOL. It took 7 years for the compressor to fail on my 2011 model year. Flashed the car back to factory and it is going to the dealer. So glad to be part of their apprenticeship program.
...is there an updated tune? I don't see one on the website. I just bought and loaded the 1.5 last week. Fantastic tune, but I will miss the ability to adjust idle speed. Maybe I will reach out and ask.
