I will also add that I liked the Spoon Rigid Collars a lot. They brought a noticeable improvement to on-center steering feel.
I just added the Spoon Stiff Plate after about a year of Rigid Collars only, but have not seen a huge change with that piece. Just my two cents.

Most of the conical lug nuts available are open-ended, so I'm assuming it's fine.
