  1. Touring to track conversion

I did the swap, mainly for diffuser clearance (Verus Eng diffuser). Track is much louder and I wouldn't like it for daily driving but my R is almost exclusively on the track running time trial.
  2. What did you do to your Type R today?

Testing out a new video overlay format using my track footage (hot lap) from the weekend. Let me know what you think of this layout
  3. CaptClutch Street/Track journey & build thread - Modifications, lap times, pictures and videos

Another short weekend/one-off track day. Back in March they had to cancel the third day of the event due to weather so this was a make up 1 day event. Good news is I managed to shave 0.45 seconds off my lap time! Watching the delta most of the time comes in the final 3 corners which just tells...
  4. Varies style hood

EPR, not selling very much in use
  5. CaptClutch Street/Track journey & build thread - Modifications, lap times, pictures and videos

Short weekend out at the track as I didn't get to make Friday practice. Still managed a new personal best around the East track at Utah Motorsports Campus. Feeling like I'm driving at the limit of my tires, may be time to try out some slicks or lower treadwear.
  6. Verus diffuser fitment

Unless AWE changed up the geometry/angle in some way on newer versions...probably your best bet to convert to track edition. Fortunately that is a relatively cheap swap and also very easy to install. I will say the track edition is noisy. If I daily drove my CTR it would probably drive me crazy...
  7. Verus diffuser fitment

I ended up doing this before switching to the AWE track version. Couldn't figure out a way to make it fit with the touring. That job would require someone smarter than me.
  8. CaptClutch Street/Track journey & build thread - Modifications, lap times, pictures and videos

Been a while since I've posted mostly because it's been winter and the CTR has sat in storage. Pulled it out to hit up the first NASA Utah event running the outer track. The weather was trying on Friday practice going from snow to rain to glimpse of sunshine and cycling through each most of the...

In regards to the shave of the Paragon big brake kit on the Enduro car I helped with - Paragon reached out and let me know they weren't running the mass production version, which is thinner, and hence why they had to do that tiny bit of shaving. Wanted to post this update in case anyone else is...
  10. CaptClutch Street/Track journey & build thread - Modifications, lap times, pictures and videos

Thanks for the clarification! Far as the upsized rear rotors I figured I would try them out and see if they made a difference and at my level I haven't really noticed much outside of lower rotor temps post session. I'll need to replace these and may go back to the normal size, I haven't decided...
  11. CaptClutch Street/Track journey & build thread - Modifications, lap times, pictures and videos

Thanks for the feedback and reading my thread! I don't quite follow your assessment on the Paragon brake pad setup. I ran their R5 pad up front and P3 in the rear, the R5s being more aggressive and having more initial bite. I believe this shifted the braking bias forward too much, even with the...
  12. CaptClutch Street/Track journey & build thread - Modifications, lap times, pictures and videos

Track weekend out at Utah Motorsports Campus with Nasa Utah. Overall I didn't feel I was driving great this weekend but managed to get within a few tenths of my PB on this configuration and consistently get within 1 second. During tire rotation I learned we somehow messed up the threading...
  13. Broken Lug

Just found out I need to replace a stud, nice timing on this post!
  14. What did you do to your Type R today?

Round 5 with Nasa Utah on the Outer Loop. The WERC enduro series came through and I got to be part of a pit crew for an E0 team that ended up taking P1. Very fun but exhausting and hot weekend! Pic of my car next to the race team I was pit crew for, Type R love! Here is the clip of my...
  15. CaptClutch Street/Track journey & build thread - Modifications, lap times, pictures and videos

Crazy busy weekend at the track. It was round 4 of the WERC enduro race series on Saturday night, for which I helped one of the E0 team's as pit crew and they ended up taking first in class! This was the fastest lap I was able to achieve over the weekend. It was a busy weekend and unfortunately...
  16. CaptClutch Street/Track journey & build thread - Modifications, lap times, pictures and videos

Made it out to the first FuelFest event in SLC and made an edit with some of the footage. This weekend is a big one out at Utah Motorsports Campus, heading out tomorrow night and will be driving Friday, Saturday & Sunday. On Saturday night is a 6 hour enduro race as round 4 of WERC series...
  17. What did you do to your Type R today?

Went to the first FuelFest event here in SLC, made a recap edit and snuck my car in it 😝
  18. Help me with what to do with Varis hood

Very recently installed the knock off of this hood, the EPR "varis", and had to go through similar choices. I've always been a fan boy of the carbon fiber hood look/aesthetic so left mine unpainted. I definitely want to protect it and did so with Suntek Reaction PPF, came out super clean...
  19. Presenting the AWE Exhaust Suite for the FK8 Civic Type R. Available now!

I'm very excited to have this mic capture audio at the next track event. The audio I had been using was from a windshield mounted GoPro (built-in mic) and often get drowned out by the Miatas and Mustangs. Going to test out placing the mic in the engine bay to see if it'll get some of the turbo...
