If you enjoy spirited driving, there really is no comparison. Si handles appreciably better, and LSD alone is worth it. I'd love a Hatch Si, but I'm not going to sacrifice the playfulness of the Si for it.
As to Hyundai's, I've owned and used many, and would not hesitate to buy again. Last one...
I've observed another Si twice in my neck of the woods, and both were driven by an older guy. As an older(ish) guy myself, that makes it 3 for 3 :) I think the manual is a deterrent for a lot of younger drivers.
As a side note, I've seen more CTRs than Si's around here.
I wonder what it does to the resale value of the older ones. $700 increase is a steal for LEDs and full Honda Sensing suite, but with Si being a niche model in the lineup, how many buyers actually want the electronics?
My Si is the slowest straight-line car I've had in probably 10 years. I traded a 6th gen Camaro for it. I enjoy it for what it is, and have absolutely no regrets. Miss RWD a bit, but the precise and light handling of the Si is a joy, and the practicality for a daily can't be beaten, especially...
One of my biggest car regrets back in the day - trading my '88 Conquest TSi for a '95 Talon TSi AWD... Faster, but nowhere near as fun. Of course my first car was an '83 Challenger Technica (the pre-Starion 2.6l non-turbo, with digital dash and talking computer...), so I'm a bit biased.
When I was in my 20s, most of the money for mods and toys came from eBay. I spent a lot of time at garage sales, and back then eBay was awesome. When that dried up (people wised up), I was fortunate enough to start making good money to afford what I wanted. Sometimes I miss the thrill of having...
Time to resurrect an old thread - question for anybody that installed the leather covers for the center/door armrests. How are they holding up? Staying in place, wear, etc?
Part of my purchase was tint. Just got it installed, and have a big problem - the inside of the driver side window is like a mirror, making the outside mirror hard to see when sunny, and just looks bad. Never had a problem like this on last few cars I got tint on.
Does anyone else have this...
Thanks, I'm pretty methodical with my mods, but all I've done over the last 12+ years was bikes, and I was a GTI fanatic before, so I feel like I'm starting from scratch here.
For exhaust, I'm looking for weight savings, looks, and sound. Don't mind spending money to make sure it doesn't...
Sentra Nismo is just such a sad testament to what Sentra used to be... I'm old enough to have owned ta brand new 1994 Sentra SE-R, still one of my favorite cars. Oh how it has fallen...
Still don't know if I will change it, but getting my hand burned in the summer sucks, and the little condom my wife made for it just looks so wrong... I do like to look and size of the stock knob though.
Almost same here - I test-drove GTI and the Veloster Turbo R-Spec before the Si I bought, and the Veloster just felt slow. I'll miss the hatchback part (why doesn't Si come in hatchback??) but in the end, it was a pretty easy decision. N could've changed that, but apparently Hyundai dealers...
My new Si is going to be my fun project car, which can still drop kids off at school in the morning.
Short story time - back in the day I've done a lot with GTIs, and missed those days. I was actually looking at leasing an MB C43 now, when our intern bought herself a new Civic EX. I got a ride...
TruCar is definitely worth a try but I've noticed one thing - two of three Honda dealers that I got TruCar price for tried to make me pay of adds they put on all their cars. Almost $2k! Cargo mat, nitrogen, tint, mud flaps, etc. Crazy prices too, as in $299 for a cargo mat, where the Honda one...
