I am running 255/35/19 at 32/32. Karcepts on softest. Really hit a sweet spot this past weekend — ended up raw timing the two drivers in a tuned Nissan GTR who have normally been easily taking FTD all season long (18 events). Our lots are quite small, mind you, so this data point may not be...

Ah ok, I got what you guys mean now. Thanks for the clarification

Yes that’s what I mean: CR and non-Cr were in different classes and I could understand why with CR having different suspension, steering rack, aero and no roof. I didn’t think the LE would have that much of a performance benefit over non-LE, to put it into BS

Strange. For autocross, what performance advantage does the LE have over the non-LE ? Its not like the s2000 Cr vs non-CR

I ran 275/35 last year with no rubbing, and we are on lots that have a lot humps to aid water drainage. Due to the size of the lot, we don't get super high speeds and the 275/30 may actually be better on paper (lighter, lower gearing). Biggest issue is whether you can get them on an 8.5" rim...
  6. Lower car with smaller tires?

What mods put you into STU? By your first post, sounded like you were running in DS. If you’re in STU you can run 11” width and any diameter wheel with up to 315 tire
  7. Lower car with smaller tires?

Also remember that a shorter tire = smaller circumference = lower speed at any given rpm = topping out 2nd gear more quickly. Depends on the type of lot you run on, but our lots here are small and never get out of 2nd gear.
  8. Lower car with smaller tires?

I don’t think he’s concerned with this if he’s looking for track only tires
  9. Lower car with smaller tires?

Biggest problem with that idea is competitive tire availability. Neither falken rt660 nor Yokohama ao52 come in 245/30r19. By my calculation, shortest tire by falken is 275/30r19.

Autocross season is over here ? Good news is that I took 2nd place overall pax in both our local season long points series. (13 races at one venue, 7 races at another)

Scorcher today - 104*F. Kept spraying front tires and intercooler, AC on full blast. Seemed to work pretty good — thanks for the tips. Was able to snag top pax and 2nd FTD.

What do you guys do to cool the car between runs? Water spray the intercooler/rad? Tires too? atuocross on Sunday, and it’s supposed to be upwards of 108*F

  15. Fuel Quality in Western Canada

I’ve almost always used Chevron 94. (Turbo miata, s2000, STI and now CTR), seems to be good

Nice driving Steve! So jealous that there is autocross going on down there. Up here in Canada it is still "no gatherings of >10 people". Even if it's outdoors and people are spread over a couple acres. Really stupid not-thought-out rules. Also, that massive piece of pavement!! Here is a...

how does it work if, say, you were from EU and moved and brought your car over and wanted to autocross? I thought you could interchange between models that are listed on the “same line” (eg: miatas can use the tie rods from a 93LE on a 96? No?). Or has to be the complete trim swapped from one to...

Seems like it’s personal preference but I like the Karcepts bar on 4/5 with vsa long hold. I’ve tried both long hold and pedal dance and prefer long hold. Pedal dance doesnt work with r mode (you’ll see it automatically switched to sport mode) so shocks are really soft and less power. No...

these actually don’t look as bad as I thought they would. Much less “baloon-y” than my friends s2000 with 255/40 on a 7” wheel
