Just a question that you might be able to answer. Why do so many cars in China have manual transmissions? Is it for efficiency?
I went to China (more specifically WeiFang in Shandong) during the summer of this year to see that 90% of the cars there are stick shift.
Many factors here:
You live on a busy street where by passing cars kick up dirt.
Condensation/Fog at night which makes the dirt stick and dry out when the sun comes out.
Overhead wires that build up water droplets from condensation/fog which then leaves water droplets on your car.
Pollen...
Katzkin is nice in terms of leather quality (compared to the OEM leather in the Civic) however the leather doesn't really fit onto the seats really tight like OEM. As seen in the photos, the leather is loose and sags in some places. Not really that big of an issue but it bothers me more than it...
Look into Iron X. Those are most likely iron deposits from railroads or fallout.
Watch a couple of videos or read up on the product to learn about it. Fairly cheap on Amazon and can double up as a wheel cleaner.
Please do not smell the product if you like your lungs...
Have you considered looking in the Acura TL or Lexus IS? I find these two models significantly more reliable than a 2008 BMW 328i

Do you know what they had exactly done to the vehicle? Did they have to drop the transmission? Open it up? I don't know if I can trust any mechanic for a job like so.
